Me and my family visit Glencoe Mansion Museum and Art Gallery this last Saturday. Amazing local museum with an amazing staff. We were so impressed of the history of that place and his owners. You can learn so much for that time. The guy who give us a tour through the museum was so nice and ready to answer all our questions. It is a wonderful place to visit in Radford, Virginia. I hardly recommend it! You will love it as we loved it!

I grew up in the Radford area, although I haven't lived there in decades. I was recently back visiting family and drove by this building, which I'd driven by thousands of times prior to its conversion to a museum. We decided to drop in and have a look. And what a wonderful hour we spent there! The young man who was on site stepped away from his other duties to give us a tour. We learned about the house itself, the family who lived there, which led right into a history of the town since the family includes some of the common names in the area. They have been able to acquire some of the original furnishings from the family's time, and they have access to some original writings which will allow them to further expand on the exhibits. For someone who wanted to learn more about the area in which I grew up, this was a perfect stop. Even if you're not from the area, though, this is worth an hour of your time. Small Southern towns always have great stories to tell!

Wife and I were amazed at the Bridal gown exhibit that was displayed at the Glencoe museum. The organization of this exhibit in a limited space was genius. The family history of the house and explanation the history of the area at the time were exceptional.
If in the area, don't miss it.

Step back in time and experience how life was in the mid eighteen hundreds coupled with today's art and special exhibits that feature local and regional artists and one time exhibitions of historical significance to the area and region.

We went to the museum for the Mary Draper Ingles weekend, saw all the venues, it was very informative and interesting. Our tour guide in the home was dressed in a beautiful period costume, and truly looked and acted the part of a Civil War Belle. She was very knowledgeable about the house, the Wharton and Radford families, the area history, and the times. The history displays were very well put together, the whole house and the grounds were immaculate, and the visit was a relaxing and educational experience. Entry is free, they do have a donation box, which helps to support the museum, but it is not required to donate. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. If you're driving down I-81 and need a break, stop off exit 105, drive on into town, it's on your left, and there are places to eat nearby. It's an easy re-entry back onto I-81. It's a stop worth making!

This is an interesting place to visit if you enjoy historical information. There are photos and books, plus furniture and old antiques through-out the museum. There are a lot of artifacts to show pieces of Radford's history.

Nice local museum with some wonderful volunteers. Only takes about 1/2 hour to go through. Its nice to hear that the locals stepped up to save this historical house and turn it into a small museum. Good job !
