I love touring old institutions, and St. Albans provided a great opportunity for a photography group I belong to. The staff were incredibly helpful, and we were allowed to tour the facility on our own after being shown some landmarks and areas of interest by tour guides. All of them swore to having experienced different paranormal phenomena. Although not one to believe in these things, I captured two different possible occurrences in photos (that I did not see while taking the shots), and a fellow videographer caught some unexplained humming and singing. His video, along with others are on Youtube. The place is very run down, with lots of points of interest, such as an old bowling alley, old water therapy tubs, and the attic and the boiler room, both of which are supposedly active paranormal areas. A bit pricey, but worth it to me. Would not recommend for small children, or those easily frightened by strange places. A favorite with paranormal groups for overnight stays.

I do not feel comfortable here. This place is very large and just creepy! This is not a tourist attraction in my mind.

Went to a haunted house that was set up in the old Sanatorium. It was a perfect venue to scare and creep you out. Not much else to say except it's an old abandoned Sanatorium what more could you want?

My husband and I visited for the monthly history tour but were told ghost stories instead of the history we came for. They did talk of the history but they talked way too much about ghosts and referred to them by first name like the tour guide is best friends with each ghost. It was just a strange tour for what it was. There were fake rubber body parts in each room and food and drink containers everywhere. It really took away from us taking any of it seriously. We were told to respect the ghosts and not to rile them up... but they have zombie games, haunted houses, fake body parts, fake blood everywhere.. isn’t that not respecting the spirits? The tour isn’t worth the money.

I tried to approach this with an open mind but damn. Unprofessional and not worth the money. The people running it are nice enough and well intended but this is nothing but a nasty run down, old building that a few people are convinced has spirits. List me as a nonbeliever.

This place is so cool!! If you like ghost hunting you must visit. We has some of the coolest things happen. What a tragic history. The owners really are doing a great job restoring. I'm going again in August!!

The people running the ghost investigations were nice but overall this tour is not worth the money. The tour is set up really weird. They do a tour with everyone going through at the same time. It's so crowded that we missed some things or it was too crowded to get into an area. Then later they broke us up into smaller groups and take us to investigate semi-guided. What's odd it that instead of giving us a certain floor to investigate they say you may investigate this room on this floor and don't go past this point on this floor, etc. If you are not familiar with the building this is very confusing and frustrating! And once I asked for directions and I got the vibe that I was an inconvenience to the tour guide. Then midway in the night they give an hour break with a food break. The food table is set up like a pot luck but when you get to the table they actually charge you for the food, which was a surprise to us since I figured it was included in the $100 tour price. A majority of the food was cooked at home by the workers. But the worst part of the tour is that one group hogged every single hotspot on every floor that we went to. I've been to a few paranormal investigations before and they normally warn people to take turns in the hot spots, but these people did not. I didn't get to spend time alone in most of the hot spots, so I was quite ticked. I mentioned it to the tour guide, and while she was understanding, she did not resolve the issue. $100 is a lot of money so everyone should be able to get their money's worth, not just the people with cool equipment. St. Alban's needs to either lower their prices or up their game!
I didn't sense anything paranormal there. There were a couple of groups doing flashlight experiments. This seems at times as if it's paranormal but I would have to conduct that experiment on my own to be really sure. It seemed at times like the spirits would react directly to questions but there were times when they didn't. There were times when they would react when nobody had prompted them to. So the jury is still out on that.

Team Phasma Paranormal did a private investigation of this majestic old asylum and was not disappointed. Not only were our hosts gracious and friendly but the sanatorium is certifiably haunted. We spent 8-hours (which flew by) locked in this amazing facility. We crawled around every inch in the pitch black dark and experienced paranormal phenomena that was mind blowing. We've done over 600 investigations in 6 states and this is certainly a feather in our cap. Just a heads up for those brave enough to go, there is no air conditioning/heating (which was fine by us) and if you go looking for trouble with the spirits, you'll certainly find it. I recommend going with an open mind, lots of batteries for your equipment (although they provide places to plug in), a cooler with water, comfortable walking shoes, and respect in your heart and mind. We had nothing bad happen but did have experiences that we'll be talking about for years to come. We can't wait to go back! I can't post my website here but just do a web search for Phamsa Paranormal and as soon as we can digest 8-hours of evidence, we'll have to posted to our website and social media sites. HIGHLY recommended!

No pun intended with the title. The volunteers at this facility are very dedicated to preserving the history along with the structure of this significant building.

I was here for a convention in May and was very happy to meet the many folks who dedicate their time and energy into making this a welcoming place to visit.

It has taken them a few years to get to this point, but it's impressive! Lots of parking, well lit at night for easy passage. It's always great to see a business have fun and do things well. Upbeat staff,
