Nice overlook on route to Pulaski. Historical marker tells story of Draper and abandoned building on site.

I love that there are two overlooks. One has a sign with historical information and a chimney. Another time we were star gazing and could see the Northern lights slightly.

Since growing up in the area I have always enjoyed the over look especially on a fall day as the foliage is so colorful!!

Draper Mountain Overlook won't take much of your time, but it's a nice place to visit. The local history is interesting and the view is good. I'm thinking I might enjoy a picnic there sometime in the fall. If you happen to be close by, it's worth 10-15 minutes of your time, certainly.

This is a lovely overlook especially in the fall when the leaves are turning. It makes a great stop for photographs and beautiful views.

There were cool old settlements on the trails. Views from overlooks were very nice. The area is nice.

Good views and several neat structures. Unfortunately was significant litter around. Be sure to check out both overlooks.

We were forced to take a detour from I-81 a few years ago and we were routed up this winding road that happened to pass the two overlooks, one on each side. We stopped and got out, enjoyed the views, climbed a little higher up old stone steps that used to lead to a house which is now gone except for the steps and chimney. The Draper Valley is famous for the story of Mary Draper Ingles, age 23, who was captured by Indians back in the 1700's and taken all the way to Ohio. She escaped, made her tortuous way 500 miles back to her husband in Draper Valley and lived to the ripe old age of 83. Now we always intentionally take the detour when we travel on I-81 to take in the views.

We found this overlook while going to the Pulaski Yankee game and glad we stopped. It is a breathtaking view of another Virginia countryside. Gorgeous and wonderful! If on US-11 just stop for a few minutes to take in the Virginia beauty.
