About
Jump off the pier into the turquoise waters at Playa Crash Boat—the calm waters are home to an array of marine life, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Hop on a banana boat for a thrilling ride around the beach, then hit the food trucks around the pier for a pina colada and casual Puerto Rican fare. Later in the day, walk to the lookout to watch the sunset. You'll find picnic tables but no showers or toilet facilities. Both paid and free parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early. Or consider visiting along a tour of west Puerto Rico. – Tripadvisor

- Tracy F859 contributionsDay at the beach. If your ever on the West Coast of Puerto Rico? You must visit the beach called Crash boat. A very quiet beach with beautiful sand and a long dock. There is clear beautiful water to swim in and the people respect your privacy. The only real challenge is parking (which is available) but first come first serve.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 20, 2024
- Stephanie HYork, Pennsylvania9 contributionsWonderful beach to make family memoriesThis beach is beautiful! We jumped off the pier into a school of tropical fish. The sand is soft and the water was calm and clear on the 2 days we were there. We rented umbrellas and they do a great job securely placing those. The food trucks did not disappoint. There was a DJ one day.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 23, 2024
- Tim BNewtown Square, Pennsylvania74 contributionsFantastic Beach & More!Crashboat Beach is one of our favorite beaches to visit and a great place to spend a full beach day in NW Puerto Rico because it offers so much. First, the beach itself is large and very scenic. Second, the swimming areas are relatively safe for this part of Puerto Rico. Third, there are many local vendors selling island food, drinks, and other items. Because it is such a popular spot for locals and tourists, it is best to arrive early (by 9:30am) if you hope to find a close parking spot. You may even find a shady place under the palm trees. After that, you will likely end up parking on the street and walking a considerable distance. As a final comment, we have always found the beach to be welcoming to all visitors and very kid friendly.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 30, 2024
- Joel D35 contributionsGreat Family Beach!Fun waves for kids to play in and felt safe doing so! No rocks and just sand. Not too crowded on a Thursday morning to afternoon. Lots of vendors and can rent umbrellas but were cash only. Got some good tropical smoothies/drinks. Can rent wave runners and can jump off dock. Some were snorkeling. We had a great time!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 26, 2024
- Albert F16 contributionsCrash boat beachI lobe this beach. Beautiful clear warm water. Many food and drink kiosks and jet ski rental ($80) dollars for 30 mins. It also has a bridge that people usually dive from.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 21, 2024
- EL_GQDel Mar, California724 contributionsAmazing but get there early!Traveled to Crash Boat from San Juan, a two hour drive. Don’t think it would be busy since it was first day of school for kids/teens in PR. Arrived around 11:30 AM and there was parking available in parking lot 2 for $4.00. Decided to take q gamble and look in parking lot 1, our luck, someone was leaving. The beach is stunning with calm waters, a lot of food vendors, you can drink booze on the beach, there’s also a restaurant near the parking lot. Umbrellas and chairs available to rent, again, get there no later than 9:00 AM or you will have to wait or parking on the street uphill.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 13, 2024
- _ACC_VeniceVenice, Italy382 contributionsTo spend one (or several) day thereThe beach is quite wide and well served, even the possibility to wash your feet when you go up from the beach! It is divided in two by this stone jetty from which everyone dives but which is also quite slippery in some places!!! It is a fun beach and offers many ideas for beautiful or nice photos, there are a restaurant and banquets to eat and drink and a nice free parkingVisited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 30, 2024
- wes607Spring, Texas96 contributionsbeautiful beachThis is a locals favorite beach. Great for swimming and hanging out in the water. Was a little crowded even on Monday. I imagine the weekends are very crowded. The beach was large and wide and beautiful. Food trucks were abound as well as drink vendors. Yummy virgin pina coladas for $5 or $10 for a good one with rumVisited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 15, 2025
- Chesea P4 contributionsSuper funWe mostly like to go to more secluded/ less crowded beaches so we weren’t sure if we were going to be into the scene here but it was so much fun and worth checking out. Very crowded but not more so than popular beaches where we live in New England. Water was beautiful turquoise blue and calm- we had been on the very rough beaches on the north coast for a week so this was great for the kids to be able to swim. Enjoyed the people watching, pinchos at the food stands and hanging out on the beach. Views from the top of the hill are amazing. We got there around 11 on a Saturday and it was easy to park on the road a little before the paid parking lot.Visited February 2025Traveled with familyWritten February 10, 2025
- Dayna255 contributionsA happening spotLots going on here. Loud music, food/drink vendors, restaurant/bar, facilities, water as calm as can be…perfect for swimming: no waves for kiddies or beginners, tons of distance for more active folks. No strong currents that I experienced. Snorkeling is good along the pier/jetty and people jumping off them into the water. I saw giant bait ball right there where you least expect near swimmers and tropical fish snacking on algae on the underwater structures. Beautiful sunset with people in the water into the night. Strong late afternoon sun, no shade along the southern side where the roped off area for swimming. Parking limited, back fill along the road.Visited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten February 11, 2025

Awesome! Must visit BUT go early so you can find parking. We got there at 10am on a Tuesday (it was a holiday) and parking was completely full. Had to park up the road. So if you don’t get there early you will have to park up the road and it can be a bit steep. Note: stay away from the areas with yellow lines. You will get a parking ticket.
This place was lots of fun. Kids will have a blast too. Water is so clean and clear, the beach too is clean. Everyone did a great job keeping track of their trash. So being garbage bags.
If you don’t have an umbrella or chairs they have rentals there, chairs are $10 each and umbrella $20. They do require your government ID (ie: drivers license) and will hold it until you return to get it.
Locals brought grills but there are food trucks there with great skewers, empanadas, and drinks (alcohol and no -alcoholic). Cash only and reasonable prices. (ie: one vendor had chicken or pork $4 / shrimp $5. The beverage vendor had piña colada without alcohol $6 (red cup) and lemonade large for $8 bother we’re delicious).
NOTE: umbrella/chair rentals and food trucks are on the far right of the beach.
Bathroom - there weren’t any or they were closed. The restaurant behind the food trucks can be used but they require you to buy two drinks. Not sure if it’s each time but I would assume so.
How this helps.

Amazing beach! Great sand, beautiful surrounding hills, and water that is calm enough to swim in (a few waves but not large ones). We arrived at 8am when the beach was calm and quiet, and later on it becomes a fun atmosphere full of locals with music and food stands. The food stands opened at around 11am and the car parks (3 different ones right near the sand) were easy to access (didn't become full until around 11am-12pm on a Saturday). The drive down is a little windy but a well maintained road. There are no public restrooms, but one restaurant has restrooms you can use and buying a drink there was $1.50 so definitely worth doing that. The pina coladas at the end kiosk were great - $5 without rum, $10 with, the pinchos stand is really yummy ($4 for chicken, $10 for fish), and coconut water for $4. You can get a shaded spot if you arrive early, otherwise can rent umbrellas. One of the best beaches we visited in terms of food, parking, atmosphere, water, surrounding beauty.

Beautiful beach with lots of space and many food/drink vendors. We visited on a weekday, when the crowds are much smaller. Parking was easy (because it wasn’t very busy) and the walk to the beach is accessible. There are wheelchair-accessible ramps over the sand for those who need them. You’ll find that on the “furthest” beach on the access road, near all the vendor trucks.
There was a stand for renting umbrellas and chairs, but I’m not sure how expensive it is. There are a few shady spots and picnic tables under the trees to give yourself a break from the sun.
Watch the reports for riptides and be careful if you’re swimming near the dock. The current can be extra dangerous around the concrete pylons.

The beach was beautiful, calm and relaxing. Many food vendors, selling the same food. There are no bathrooms, what looked like a bathroom was locked and not accesible and no actual showers just a bit of water for a 1 min rinse. There were many bees and power sports (jet ski, boat) very close, right where people are swimming. Not visiting again.

Beautiful beach, clean, neatly maintained areas, picnic tables, crowded after :10/00 am, cristal clear blue waters, you can watch fish schools under the pier looking down or jump into the waters and do some snorkeling, stingrays and lots of tropical fish . My grandkids loved it, bring food and water kiosks are pretty expensive and get long lines for ordering. O really, great relaxing place❤️

Beautiful 😍 beach with clear water and amazing scenery. The water looks gorgeous with different shades of blues and very clean. You can see your body inside the water, little fishes, and the sand you're standing on. You just have to be careful if you want to cross or climb your way to the secluded patches by the rocks because the waves are stronger there. Otherwise, the waves are mild and safe to swim or just chill in the water. The place has a few kiosks with finger food like chicken, steak, fish and pork kabobs, natural fruit juices, and other drinks.

Beautiful beach. Great for kids too. Really nice with the multiple food and drink vendors. Made it convenient so we didn’t have to lug food with us. We brought floaties with us so we enjoyed using them. It gets really packed but there are multiple parking lots. Whatever you do, DO NOT park on the bridge. There are no signs and if you park after the wooden observation deck that is considered the bridge. They love to give out parking tickets here at $100 a pop. To pay parking tickets you can go to any Banco Popular (once the ticket is in the system - give it 2 days). Otherwise you have to go to Aguadilla municipal city hall and can pay on the 4th floor. Trust me. This is valuable information here and it took a while to find this out. Still worth the visit. If you want a quieter beach go to Pena Blanca.

We arrived early - about 10 am. There was still parking in the not paid lot. But when we left there were cars all along the roads- so get there early! (Recommended). You can rent a sun unmbrella for $20 ish and a chair for $5/ each. For $30 we had shade all day til 4pm. The water is amazing and there are no little rocks when you try to get it so it is very nice shoreline. There are things r buy to eat and drink and there are things to rent like canoes, kayaks, banana boat rides, and jet skis. We did none of this— we just sat on the beach and went in the water and it was an amazing time. Plus a big iguana we named Fred came to see us.

Crashboat has always been one of my favorite beaches in Puerto Rico. The water is calm & clear. Plenty of space to lay out in the sand. There are various options for food (fritters, shish kabobs, piña colada, smoothies, etc). You can also enjoy banana boat rides (for a fee).
Note: It gets very busy on weekends and during June/July so arriving early is recommended in order to find parking.
