Any elevated position on Tiree affords spectacular views across the island and beyond. My choice however would always be Ben Hough. The view from the top... out to Skerryvore Lighthouse, West to Mingulay... the Paps of Jura.... the Cuillins , Skye. Definitely worth the extra...More

We walked up the road having parked just before the turning to west hynish. Steep but exhilarating particularly in high winds ..... You can't go into the golf ball however at the top the views extend over the whole island... we couldn't workout another trail...More

Leaving the car at the bottom of the road for a pleasant evening walk was well worth the effort! Great views from the top at the Rada Station and as the sun was setting it was really more impressive!

Easy walk up as as you follow a narrow road to tell top. Ignore the signs saying stay out, as the locals tell you too! Looks like a great big golf ball so lots of lags can be had posting photos with captions! Great views...More

A service road (not for unauthorised access by cars) means an easy if steep walk up to the top of this lovely little peak. As you ascend the steep road, the island starts to unfurl around you. By the time you are at the top,...More

You can drive to the top, or near enough. The views across the island are simply stunning. I wish I could find my photos of snow scattering the hills and summit - an extremely rare sight on Tiree. It a good solid walk up but...More

If you want beautiful views over the island, this is a good place to start. I would say however that going all the way up to the top isn't really necessary if you're just looking for a nice view as the shape of the hill...More

This is well worth a visit for the views of this gorgeous island. There is a tarmac path all the way to the top which you can either walk or cycle up - I'd recommend a bike but it's a steep climb in places! There...More

Visible from the glorious Balephuil Bay nearby (and most other parts of the island) the Radar Station sits on top of Ben Hynish, at 462 feet (141metres), the highest point on Tiree. It monitors trans Atlantic flights for the Civil Aviation Authority and as expected...More
