This a small beautiful beach in the town - great for enjoying some sun after a long day of work. In the summer it has artisan festival. There is small swimming area as well.

Visit the Huntington Park Beach year around to see the Historic James River That the Jamestowne Colonist traveled.

There is a great artisan festival a few weeks during the fall. They sale home-made items and gifts. They have the BEST Kettle Corn ever! 12/9 is the next one.

We just moved to Suffolk from Chesapeake in Oct. I used to go to the beach by First Landing. That is a far drive from Suffolk. It was far enough from Chesapeake. I am a big time beach lover. My husband told me about Huntington...More

Like going there when just the two of us want to sit, cook, and people watch.Never swam there, but we don't usually go to the beach to swim. Feels safe and secure. Don't forget the lakeside area. It's easy to miss.

Just like most out of door sites in this area, this city park located on the James river can depend on weather for family satisfaction. The beach is closed due to elevated bacteria levels of the water several times each summer. This is great news...More
