The Newsome House Museum would be a great place to visit if it wasn't in a bad neighborhood. Bad for children drug dealers and prostitutes are standing on the corner.

Take your family there, you won't be disappointed I promise. The history and stories come alive once you step through the doors. My grandchildren loved it and so did I. We'll be going back!!

Very interesting history of this museum. Parking in the back. Make sure that you go 10 blocks away to the waterfront. Beautiful view and nice houses.

I enjoyed stopping by the Newsome House, though i didn't get to go inside, the information about Mr. Newsome and how he has achieved so much is enough to want to learn more about him.

I beautiful house. Steeped in history. Wonderful for a venue for a bridal shower, small wedding, or baby shower. The décor is full of antiques. The staff is very pleasant.

I took my kids here for a African American history mini lesson. There is no charge, but a $2 per person donation is suggested. The tour is worth it...the house isn't that big, but our tour guide was very knowledgeable not just about Mr. Newsome...More

My tour guide was so friendly and did a great job highlighting the points of history and also giving me time to explore on my own. A unique site and story. An important piece of African-American history.
