All troops came through this harbour after D-Day. Some of the original infrastructure remains as a memorial to that period in history. 1822 OOS

In the heart of Arromanches lies the Kunstlich Hafen, in other words you cannot miss it. Looking toward the sea your are reminded of the war by the scraps of machinery and construction that remains. It is not that the site is fantastic for itself...More

Well preserved hardware from the D-Day landings such as a tank, 88mm artillery piece, anti-aircraft gun and a section of floating road. Fascinating.
