Overview
More
Marqueyssac is one of the most beautiful romantic gardens of France and today the most visited garden in Perigord. Listed as a national historical monument thanks to its 54 acres park, Marqueyssac's gardens offer more than 6 kilometres of shaded paths in a maze of 150 000 hand-pruned boxwoods. From the belvedere, at 130 meters above the Dordogne river, you will see the most spectacular panorama in Perigord. This is the testimony of a rich bygone history and a gorgeous natural heritage. It's also an exceptionnal Dordogne valley point of view, you will see its most beautiful villages : Domme, Castelnaud, Beynac, Fayrac, La Roque-Gageac and its castles.

Enjoyed the walk through these lovely gardens - there is a long walk through the woods and also a great area of boxed hedges in all shapes and sizes - which are all trimmed by hand. There is a small Chateau which is pretty and...More

This is a large estate with manicured green gardens, box woods and other green plants. Long walks and a climb to Belvedere overlooking the Dordogne River and La Roque Gageac is worth the effort. Wear comfortable walking shoes and do not expect to see colorful...More

The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our trip....truly breathtaking views and plenty to entertain our young sons too (3 and 6). We also had a superb and reasonably priced lunch here with the most beautiful view. A perfect trip!
