Nothing to say about the falls there are impressive and one of the biggest one I’ve seen in Southeast Asia.
What you really have to know it’s that you can and should go with the motorbike until the fall. The way is steep but if...More
I have been traveling in Myanmar since 1996. By bicycle, motorcycle, bus, train. I know the country and customs well and was very disturbed at our expirence at these falls.
As tourism develops in Myanmar, well things are a changing.

We traveled here from Mandalay by car. Takes some 90 minutes.
There are two options:
1. Either you have time and energy/skills for medium difficult hiking, or
2. You just want to see this place from dedicated view terrace.
We took the option 2. View...More

This was a lovely morning venture-the downhill (40 minutes) took longer than the uphill for us! Paved road, winding, good chance to see flowers, trees and nature. Powerful and impressive falls at the base- have a cup of tea or noodles and enjoy the surroundings....More
I liked the surrounding stalls more than the falls itself, as it was a good place to sample local wines and candies. I also enjoyed seeing the different "amusement facilities" surrounding the falls. As far as waterfalls goes it is however not spectacular.
There's a long and walk down to the falls (about 30 mins each way). If you take a taxi to the falls they won't drive down the road but you can take a motorbike if you've hired one. If you walk, don't take the suggested...More

Hi Sebastian we got a tuk tuk from pol, so wasn’t paying much attention to navigation. You will arrive at the top, and at least 40 min walk down and hour and a bit at least on way up. It is a hard climb. The local touts two sisters for us. are worth the five USD tip, not because they pointed out the obvious, or that we had to keep stopping for them, but for their persistence and more persistence. Then physically pushing us up the hill fanning us with their hats, and the leg massages. Have a swim at the bottom Did not know about restaurant but certainly not at bottom. Enjoy
