Grey Horse Vineyards is a destination winery in Virginia's Piedmont Region. We specialize in boutique wines produced in the European tradition, blending the best of the old world and the new. The tasting room features a large, stone, wood burning fireplace to chase away the chill. In the warmer months, guests enjoy the large covered and screened deck. Live music is featured on the weekends. The property offers a unique blend of both the vineyard and woodlands, featuring walking trails and picnic sites. Grey Horse Vineyards is located in Fauquier County, close to Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Fredericksburg.

I've visited Grey Horse on several occasions. Beautiful setting. Owner visited and shared vast knowledge of grapes. Love the wine. If you are looking for a relaxing day under shade trees or a lovely screened in porch and sipping wine, I highly recommend.

We love wine. We love wineries. We love Virginia wine. But... wow. Something is very wrong with this place. The building is beautiful. Nice deck and tasting room. But... wow. The wine is barely drinkable. We tasted five for $10 that I wish I had...More

My friend and I were amazed at the lovely setting of this winery and the spacious tasting room that they had. The bar was vast and they had several people working it. Our server was extremely pleasant though a tad slow. They had two whites...More

The wine tastes like vinegar - every single red I tried! Same taste on multiple occasions (as I gave them another chance & visited a few other times). More importantly, the owner does not know what "Customer Service" means, or maybe he just doesn't care,...More

Could of been better. The atmosphere was great. It is a nice set up; however, the wine was not what I was expecting. It didn't taste like it was quite ready to be served. Comparing this to other wineries that we frequent, this price was...More

We visited on a Saturday afternoon while visiting family in area. Beautiful venue and views. Screened porch lovely. The wine was fair. The best was the Cab Franc. Vinegar taste to others which was odd. Expensive for Virginia! Not awful but not great.

This winery is clueless as to what "doing the right thing for the customer" Is all about. I have been dealing with these incompetent tasting room managers for 3 weeks. They won't call you back and ignore your emails. Wines are horrible and tasting fee...More

Was in to do a tasting in May and have been numerous times before. The wine was so-so to below average. When I first went the wine was not bad. I like to support the local economy so I bought two bottles. I opened both...More

Beautiful new building which still had unfinished drywall. Looks like it's not quite ready for primetime. Wines were decent if a bit expensive. The fortified dessert wine was the best -- and most expensive. We were the only ones doing a tasting and they seemed...More

I was a wine club member and at first it was ok, but then 4 bottles of wine in a row were terrible. They tasted like skunky chemicals and smelled like vinegar. When I complained to the owner he admitted the Chardonnay was bad but...More

Our wines are hand crafted and hand bottled. Occasionally something goes wrong and when it does, we are the first to accept that mistake and replace the bottle. That said, let me address the claim in this review. Jessica came in and said that four...More
