This National Park Battlefield has a small visitor center/shop with an electronic map to explain the battle and entrenchments. The grounds are well maintained. The walk is nice and the driving tour has 6 quick stops. Kids were working on the Junior Ranger program and...More

We walked the short tour thru the battle field and saw the trenches that were dug for protection over 160 years ago. First we listened to the video setting the background of the battle. The ranger was knowledgable and willing to share the information.

Small battlefield with a small museum and gift shop. There are many trails to run and a small one you can drive on. Be sure to get your passport stamped in the gift shop.

If you are in the area, worth a stop for Civil War buffs. Vistors center is at the beginning, can drive through the rest of the park, however there are areas you can pull off to observe.

We weren't sure which Richmond Battlefield we wanted to see, and the ranger recommended this one for its well-preserved earthworks. The trails were easily walkable, and really well-signed to help interpret this battlefield. We highly recommend it! Hint: head down the road a bit to...More

We were actually on our on way to Stratford Hall and saw the sign for Cold Harbor at a small crossroads. Having read much about the carnage at this battle, we immediately made the turn to check out the site. We were very pleasantly surprised...More
