As always, I like quaint little museums, and this one is quaint and does not disappoint! To set this one apart from others, the moment we entered we were treated as a special guest of history. Not only were we greeted at the door, we...More

We are always glad to hear visitor's experiences in our museum. We hope that everyone feels warmly welcomed. I am now always here, but our docents do a good job also of welcoming visitors. They know some of the history behind the items. We never...More

We thank you very much for your kind evaluation of our museum. I agree, some of our displays are quite unusual - how many have a piece of fossil coral with a Minié ball embedded in it and a box turtle with an infantry company...More

Every time my wife and I visit the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, we begin our trip at the Front Royal visitors center, then walk a few blocks to the Warren Rifles Confederate Museum at 95 Chester Street. Admittedly, we are Civil War buffs. We have...More

We thank you for your very kind words about our area and our museum. We try to have new books available for our guests, admittedly they are usually about our area. We try to tell the story of our battlefields, but they are now very...More

The displays are nicely done, you can take your time and really get a good look at the artifacts. The layout and information is not haphazard and simply a collection of junk from a low point in American history. Worth the visit!

This place has some interesting artifacts from the Civil War period. They have several guns, bullets, swords, uniforms, and many other things. The lady working there was very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions, but still let us look at our own pace.

Thank you for your review. We try not to intrude on our visitors, but want to answer any question that they may have. We try to check every so often during a visit. We hope that our item cards explain the artifact.

A small museum worth a visit that will take an hour or so that is free to active military or $5 an adult. Exhibits have good explanations, a mix of uniforms, artifacts-mostly locally donated by family members, as well as some guns. Well done. Free...More

We are glad that you enjoyed our museum. As I often tell people, we are your grandmother's attic. Gen.Lee stopped at Lucy Buck's home on the return of the Army of Northern Virginia after Gettysburg. The girls entertained him by singing some songs while he...More
