This is a few miles of I-81 outside the town of Dublin. There is a monument honoring Capt. Christopher Cleburne and a board describing some of the battle.

Great view! Unfortunately there is little to see other than the marker. But one can easily imagine the great difficulty incurred artillery, cavalry and infantry assailing the steep inclines. Historians tell us that the Calvary had a dismount in order to move up the mountainside. The Confederates lost more than 25% of their troops involved in the action, while the union lost approximately 10%. The battle lasted little more than an hour, but was decisive in cutting off the last route between Virginia and Tennessee.

Cloyd's Mountain has a lot of interesting history from the civil war. Sadly, there really isn't that much to see here. There is a marker that offers some information, but I would suggest looking up some information about the battle before coming here, or trying to google it when your there. Definitely don't make a trip just for this, but take a quick stop to learn some history.

There isn't a whole lot to see besides the Historical Marker. Jenkins lost 23% of his men in this Civil War Battle
