We love coming to the corner! It is a nice place to hang out for old and young....Utilize parking garages (so worth it) and enjoy. Nice place to stroll, shop, picnic, and study history! Do not pass up Mincer's for UVA souveniers, the White Spot for a great burger/sandwhich, or the Rotunda and lawn for beauty and history!

Just outside the University of Virginia campus you will find a street offering just about everything from pizza and booze to coffee and imprint shirts. For that late night moment you may want to visit the White Spot, assuming you are partying like you are an undergrad.

typical college town --worth walking around a bit if you have time but nothing special-- lots of places for quick food and a few decent shops but not unlike other college towns

This is place to be to take in UVA social life. It is a few blocks long and has shops - including Mincer's - the place to buy UVA gear, restaurants. Parking can be tricky.

The Corner has been the hub of UVA social life (outside of frat parties) forever. It is a few blocks long and has shops - including Mincer's - the place to buy UVA gear, restaurants - Virginian, Little John's and White Spot have been there for over 40 years! and bars - Trinity and Biltmore. Lots of outdoor seating for beautiful Virginia days. Only downside is the increasing number of panhandlers.

At The Corner, you see a sign which tells all of the businesses down on Elliewood AVe.
From great Korean food to Arctic Inuit Art to pizzas + many spots to go in and eat. Starbucks is at the top of Elliewood, but another coffee spot is on down the road on Elliewood.

This seems to be the popular (basically on campus) place to grab a bite or drink. There are restaurants and bars all over this area. I grabbed dinner at the Virginian and breakfast at Bodo’s Bagels. There is also a convenience store and shops in the area. Definitely geared towards the students but useful for the traveler in the area.

I love the Corner. In my younger days I could hang out here all day. Now it's a bit less interesting, since it's really all about the college students. However, it can be a nostalgic part of a chill night out in Charlottesville. Just start at with a walking tour of the Grounds, walk down past the Corner and then head to one of the trendy taphouses or restaurants in Midtown.

We walked around the Corner area as part of our campus tour, and while we loved the Insomnia Cookies we bought, I can't say the rest of the area inspired feelings of awe. I guess it must be a student thing.

The Corner is a portion of Main Street C'ville that runs from, essentially, the Rotunda, to the railroad over pass and contains a variety of restaurants and shops. While still an important location because of it's location close to the main campus, the growth of the University and Charlottesville as reduced the importance of the Corner. Downdown, C'ville as more entertainment venues, shops, and eateries. With good city and University transportation the options for going out on the town have substantially increased. Still, the Corner as a long history and there are places on the Corner best reviewed separately that are C'vile and particularly student traditional haunts.
