My wife and I visited the Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech in August 2022 We thoroughly enjoyed walking the garden and viewing the great variety of plants (and veggies and artwork). Molly was delightful and spoke patiently with us about the garden. If you love botanical gardens this one is a must visit.

The Garden is beautiful especially the water features, fish pond and water fall. There is plenty of seating and shade. The walkways are not marked well but there are many signs naming plants and flowers. There may be paper maps and there is a QR code that you can use to get a map on your phone. Not a large garden but worth the visit is you are in the vicinity.

This garden is definitely worth an hour of your time and is free! Beautiful and varied plants and trees, two koi ponds and some interesting sculpture, especially the "Maid of the Mud" by Frank Lloyd Wright. It's a perfect place to wander or to sit and rest and contemplate. There are many benches and places to sit and just enjoy.

Because of the ridiculous parking regulations it is probably easier to get into Fort Knox. We just didn't have the time or energy. What makes this scholastic adjunct to a football team so important? Will be pleased to urge our legislators to reduce the state's contribution to its support.

We were in Blacksburg for an event that was canceled at the last minute, so we looked for things to do. Enjoying nature and gardening, we visited the Hahn Horticulture Garden twice. It was really beautiful with a variety of flowers and plants. The hardest part was dealing with the parking system. We first had to go to the Visitor Center. Instead of giving us a visitor parking pass to put on our car, they handed us a ParkMobile instruction card for contactless parking payments (note that they handed it to us). After following the directions on the website, we figured out the system. The zone # is the same for anywhere on campus, so we also parked at the Alumni Center and walked to the duck pond for another nature walk.

A great place to visit on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The garden is beautifully designed, but not over-done. We particularly liked seeing displays of vegetables and examples of "utility-friendly" trees, whose mature heights do not interfere with overhead power lines. A number of the trees would be fine additions to residential landscapes.

We visited the garden when moving our son to V Tech. What a beautiful and peaceful place right on campus. Lovely place to spend some time - my daughter wanted to sit by the fountain and read for hours ;). Check it out!

While my son visited the awesome corps of cadets, I walked over here to look at the trees and fish. It is so peaceful and tranquil and really an amazing place to catch your breath and reflect. Just so peaceful and beautiful. I met a staff member who was really helpful, friendly, and full of information! If you are visiting with your prospective student or on campus for anything really, you are shortchanging yourself if this is not on your list of activities!

If you have a little time to kill stop by this gorgeous garden! It is beautifully landscaped with a huge variety of plants and flowers and even a koi pond with a waterfall. It is not a large area but well worth a stop in for a stroll through some beautiful gardens.

Self guided tour on paths through flowers, trees, beautiful displays. Many opportunities to peacefully sit and reflect. An oasis in the middle of a very busy campus. Great for all ages. No fee.

Do you furnish any type of wheelchairs?
Written May 19, 2017
No wheelchairs. This is just a garden that is open to the public with no attendants or admission procedure. It is mostly grass but we did take my mom there in a wheelchair.

Is there any type of wheel chairs that can be used? My husband has a walker, but can't walk very far.
Written May 19, 2017
I'm not sure. The park is mostly grassy areas with some trails/paths. Those were either dirt or paved with gravel. It is not level, but has slight hills. My dad has a cane and was able to maneuver easily. The paths are wide enough for a wheelchair if that helps.

What hours are you open today, April 1, 2017?
Written April 1, 2017
It's an open garden, however, since it is on a major college campus you should plan accordingly.
