I couldn’t find online or in other reviews the easiest way exactly to get to the observation tower. So here it is: park at the intersection of Parkside Dr and Hubbard Park Dr. When I parked I met some of the neighbors who told me...More

This park contains several miles of trails through forested hills, which makes for a perfect morning or afternoon stroll! We decided to hike to The Tower. The trails were very smooth and well-kept, and are not very difficult to hike. Once at The Tower, we...More

Walking in Hubbard Park provides a great workout, because it's on a huge hill. The paths are heavily wooded and private.

We passed through. Wanted to find a playground to stretch our legs. No playground but cool trails and a nice grassy area. We would love to come back and see more one day.

To access the observation tower, you can climb for 30 minutes behind the capitol building, or drive up and walk less than 10 minutes on a gently sloping trail. After climbing almost 70 steps, the views from the top of the tower were disappointing because...More

We hiked from the capitol building to the look out tower. Ground was covered with snow, but the trails were nicely packed. Lots of unleashed dogs, which didn't bother me a bit, but might bother some. Trails aren't marked well, but it's a pretty small...More

One can spend a few hours at Hubbard Park, enjoy a quiet walk up to the top and look out over Montpelier. A beautiful walk with your dog too.

So lucky to have this forested gem right in the center of town. Miles of beautifully kept hiking trails groomed for skiing in the winter. My dog and I absolutely could not live here without this park

Definitely, if you're in moderately good shape. There are some steep areas, but if you take it slow you'll be fine. Just as an FYI, we are both in our 50's and hike approximately 2-3 times per week.
