Driving a loop through the Atlantic NE states - from Michigan, through Ontario, into New York on the way to Maine. If visiting the Adirondack Mountain region, pretty much the only way to cross from New York into Vermont is taking a ferry across Lake...More

We took the ferry from Burlington to Port Kent as a way to avoid driving time. Getting a ticket and loading our vehicle was easy. This ferry is quite small. There is an old ferry in the maritime historical site in San Francisco that looks...More

In the heat of early July, we took to the water and the islands (with sandwiches to go) for a pleasant touring loop. The one-hour ferry ride to Port Kent is enjoyable and soothing, with cooling breezes off the water. Perhaps not so much for...More

Great 2 hr cruise to get oriented with Lake Champlain and take in the water & Mountain View’s. They give you a little bit of history too which is cool. Can order drinks and food as well and it’s just very relaxing and enjoyable !

Our latest trip across Lake Champlain was just as smooth as most other trips. We always take this route as it's a great way to cut out the Route 2 loop around Alburgh saving time and gas. All this with great views and never a...More

Such awesome views! We ride our bikes onto the ferry and ride over, spend the day in Burlington, and then come back to NY at the end of the day. The ferry staff are very friendly and accommodating to our bikes.

We were coming across the top of Vermont and New York and decided to take the short cruise across the lake. It was very nice. The price was not too bad and the scenery was great.

Niagara Falls is like 300 miles from Lake Champlain. Ausable Chasm (very cool!) is close to the Lake Champlain Ferry dock at Port Kent but I don't know about private tour guides in the area.

No ferry from Burlington to Montreal, there is a scenic ferry from Burlington to Port Kent, NY, then you would get on interstate 87 and drive north about an hour to Montreal.
