I called the Social Axe at 5pm on a Friday to see if they had any walk-in availability. They told, “yes” and I headed right over. It was empty when I showed up at 5:15pm, but was full and bumpin when I left at 6:20pm.
Came just to practice (and I needed to stall some time). $15 for 1 hour and I had my own lane! Not bad at all. The place I have at home you need to rent the lane at like $150 an hour and you divide it up with whoever you bring or randomly get partnered with.
Service was very friendly. Host/worker showe me a couple of techniques and gave some light coaching (as I asked for her opinion). I didn’t get her name, but she was great. Very friendly, helpful, and supportive.
I think I found an activity that I really enjoy (and wish home had a place like this that was affordable Will definitely return to the Social Axe the next tiem i am in town).

Well organized event that the owners made interactive and enjoyable. Even though most of the 21 folks that took part had never thrown a hatchet we all left with a smile on our face and a new social event to enjoy. Almost to the person ever one wants to come back and try it again. Combined with a good selection of video game terminals and a nice pool table it was the ideal spot for a group to celebrate recent accomplishments in a fun slightly competitive environment. To top it off the beverages were cold and varied and the wings and pizza were hot and tasty. Need I say more.

The manager Stephen made the whole experience very uncomfortable and unenjoyable. We had a large group but called well in advance and wanted to reserve a time slot earlier in the day on a Saturday when they wouldn't be busy. They told us they couldn't accommodate us unless we booked a two hour time slot. We didn't want to spend $30 per person considering we had another activity planned for the evening. He finally agreed to let us book a one hour slot once I told him we'd find something else to do. When we got to the location and he rushed us all and treated us like we were an inconvenience. We spent well over $300 between the games and drinks. We were treated like children and couldn't relax and have fun due to all of his crazy rules and micromanagement. We tried to get a picture in front of the lanes before we left and he told us we could go over there because they were changing out boards. We wouldn't have been in the way of them changing the boards. The building was nearly empty with only one other lane being used. He treated us like he had a packed house and we were setting his while night behind. We will not be returning to this location which is unfortunate because the trainers were so much fun and helpful, but he ruined the whole experience.

We had been hearing about the Axe throwing rage sweeping the county. We decided to try it when we were in Moab but they had closed permanently. We were thrilled when we came across an A-Frame sign on the corner promoting it. Just a block off 25th street this is a fun way to spend some time. I am historically terrible at everything. bowling, darts, billiards, cornhole, etc... The young lady spent time training us until "our axe stuck" without her it would have been very frustrating. She is a great teacher as I beat my husband on the second game. We both had a great time. They also serve pizza and beer. Fun way to get a little upper body workout and work on bragging rights. If you have never tried this, what are you waiting for??

We booked the entire venue for a private party "meet and greet" for out of town wedding guests. Stephen was a welcoming and prepared host for our group of 30+. He had plenty of throwing coaches and service staff on hand. Everyone had an opportunity to axe throw, shoot pool and enjoy tasty pizza, wings & beer. This was my second visit in the past 6 months and both times were a blast. Tip: ladies, forgo the cute footwear and go with athletic shoes - it's much easier to throw!

We had a fantastic time at Social Axe Throwing! Every staff member we worked with was awesome and accommodating. We had a large group and all of us were excited, participated and enjoyed ourselves. Food was great! I recommend trying the fries and pizza. Will definitely return and recommend.

We took our adult children to SAT the afternoon of Christmas Eve. We had the place to ourselves for two hours of instruction and axe throwing. We were given great treatment and shown a very good time. Josh was an amazing instructor. Very kind and patient and sarcastic (like us). Highly recommend Social Axe Throwing. Will definitely return.

This was my first experience with Axe Throwing and it was awesome. The staff at Social Axe were really great teachers and also made the experience competitive for our group by having us play a number of games. Throwing and axe is a pretty bad ass feeling and it is especially cool when you hit the target you are throwing at. I was actually better at the sport than I expected and it was easy to pick up with just one session.
I definitely recommend stopping by if you are visiting Ogden, which is also a cool town with a great vibe, some awesome craft breweries and easy access to awesome ski resorts.

We went with another family and teenage daughters. What a fun - and different - night out. Everyone got the hang of axe throwing and we enjoyed a variety of fun competitive games. Highly recommended!
