- Linda JSpring, Texas5 contributionsVery DisappointedUnfortunate experience. The rink is ridiculously small and they allow way too many people to skate at one time. The food and drinks are below par and very expensive. It was an outing for out-of-town family members visiting for the holidays. We are extremely disappointed. We say find something else, or drive to Memorial City or the Galleria to skate. Don't' waste your time or money on this venue.Visited December 2022Written December 19, 2022
- Dihchef3 contributionsIce Skating in The WoodlandsThis had become a Christmas tradition with my grandsons. The tickets were easy to acquire and parking was very convenient and free. We thought that because we bought tickets for a specific time period that the number of people would be controlled, but this year it was entirely too crowded. The kids said it wasn't as much fun as past years because there were so many people. They had to stay with the crowds and couldn't break out- it was way too confining. Sadly, we will not be returning.Visited December 2022Written December 31, 2022

The table was a bad idea because everyone stopped and sat in our empty chairs to dump their shoes and put their skates on. Left their shoes in the way for all to trip on and never cared that we had done the right thing by renting our space. No one cared. Then my grand daughter was literally run over by adult skaters who left her on the ground injured and crying. No one helped her up or off the ice. Her cousin finally found her and helped her off. She sprained her rusts and had the breath knocked out of her. Horrible experience because of adults not kids! Won’t return.Visited December 2022Traveled with familyWritten January 3, 2023

The opening session was great as there were only 30 people or so there total so moving around the rink was easy with only about half of those one the ice at any time. It was my first skate since January. The ice was in great shape. A shout out to Jim the Zamboni driver and Alex the skating coach for another great time.

This place is full of disasters waiting to happen and some have... Very poor management. Bathrooms are a dirty mess with no soap or paper towels. At one point there were 4 walkers on the ice blocking the very tiny entrance/exit. Way to crowded with people falling all of the place. It’s overall a dangerous place to ice skate.

I went for the 3rd time this 2022 winter season this past Sunday, 12/11. The ice was great, as usual, to start. There was a huge crowd which made skating around a bit trickier even for an experienced skater like me. Getting on and off the ice was difficult as there is only one door for entering and exiting especially since most attendees are not skaters. The walkers add even more of a challenge in entering and exiting. Maybe a 2nd door can be added to make that process go more smoothly.
I would like to give a special shoutout to Jim, the rink manager and Zamboni driver, Alex, skating coach and event manager and Ryan, skating coach and rink worker.

Rink is too small and not enough people working there. Not impressed with the way they usher everyone in at the same time, free for all to get to the 4 people handing out skates and a guy on a microphone that should have been helping to hand out skates.

We had family visiting from Belgium and they all had a great experience. We did feel it was a bit too crowded but still had a great time.

We usually go to the Aerodrome, but dad had an appointment in the Woodlands, so I took the kids here to kill a few hours.
Was it fun? Yes. Did the kids enjoy it? Yes. Was it a terrible experience? No. But as far as ice skating goes, you'll have a much better experience if you drive to the Aerodrome, Galleria or pretty much anywhere else.
The good: It's not nearly as cold as large rinks. The parking is good. The tables and chairs right by the ice are nice. Kids liked the hot dogs.
The bad: ice got choppy quickly. Very little staff, so no one is enforcing rules. There is one narrow spot to get off and on the ice, so there is a constant bottleneck, especially when little kids need to step onto the ice slowly. The bathrooms were about half out of order. The walkers are trash.
The ugly: The skates should have been thrown out years ago and border on unsafe. Every pair we saw had rips, tears, holes, and shredding laces. My daughter had to try a few pairs because several were missing the metal prongs that allow you to tighten around the ankles. (Many kids were out there wobbling around on loose skates, which isn't safe.) I wear a women's 10, but the only skates larger than women's 9 were super still ancient leather skates with no padding. When I started getting bruises on my ankles, I asked for men's hockey skates. They were more padded, but I was given two left skates.
Overall, we did skate so the kids were happy. But it's nowhere near what I expected from the Woodlands, and I could not recommend it to anyone until the skates are replaced.

So much fun! My husband and daughter and I spend an afternoon skating here and loved it. Our skates were fine. Yes, if you were going to skate all the time, I would tell you to invest in your own skates. Otherwise it's a great little outing!
