I would call this old-rustic instead of ghost town . . .

If this is a ghost town, then Virginia City is a ghost town. We saw more vacant buildings in... read more

This is a cute little place. It is worth the stop, but there is not much to see. There was a man with his dog singing and playing guitar when we got there. It was nice to see and hear that.

Many of the old residences and buildings have become part of the Holiday Hotel. There are better Ghost Towns but this is interesting if you are in the area.

When we first drove in I didn’t get what the big deal was but when I started to walk around I could feel the energy. As I stood at the mines and listened to the winds I could sense an active town. It was almost...More

Really not much about it. Maybe we didn’t get out and walk around enough? It is old looking , for sure, but don’t think you can make an afternoon out of it. More like 10 minutes!

We stayed Terlingua, a Ghost Town for few days when we hiked Big Bend N.P.. It's a pretty country side, but very unique. There are some restaurants which always have live music!! We explored every night!

If this is a ghost town, then Virginia City is a ghost town. We saw more vacant buildings in Virginia City than we did here. It might have been a ghost town at some point in time but we didn't see any buildings that weren't...More

This is a bit of a tourist trap but does allow the residents of Terlingua to make some money. The trading post has lovely merchandise. Much of which is made in Mexico and has more to do with The Day of the Dead than Terlingua...More

I'm not sure what I expected but I thought the ghost town was uninteresting and dirty. We did not eat at the Starlight Theatre which looked like it was the highlight of the town. The store had a bunch of souvenirs, beer & junk food.

This is a very great historical town to park & walk around. Amazing on the old cabins! Most were only one room but at 5’3”-I could fit through the doors- hubby had to duck. We really enjoyed meandering around. Do not miss the old cemetery-amazing...More

We visited the cemetery and did a little shopping. Nice area to interact with the locals and see historical ruins.

Not that I saw. The advantage for us was the relative proximity to Big Bend NP. The Starlight Theater has an excellent, first class restaurant as well. There is also a nice little breakfast place right in Terlingua that... More
