Today we found another entrance to Charlie's Pasture. It is a path from the community center. Repairs\ new construction have been implemented and there are 2 new pavilions and a new sidewalk. We were very happy to discover this path.

Was pleasantly surprised at the wide well-paved walkways. Good signage and a great way to get up close to the beachside environment. No litter, clean primitive restrooms, and lovely pavillion. Hurricane damage to the path next to the beach but with a little caution it...More

On this day the water was clear with a tint of blue. Very unusual but a true treat! We ended the night with a fire. If you are on a budget use a large bag of generic charcoal. You'll get a reasonable flame with a...More

We walked from the ball field to the channel. It was a nice paved trail with several lookouts. My wife enjoyed the birdwatching and the kids loved seeing the dolphins in the channel.

Hurricane Harvey forced closure to access most of the preserve, but it is in process of restoration. Seawall (damaged, so be careful!) is still a great place to watch dolphins in the evening. Sunsets from here are always amazing!

Hurricane Harvey took its wrath out on the nature preserve but they will be rebuilding it. Restoration is a slow process for the entire area but it will happen!

You can not access this area now. I was told that many volunteers have been working to carry away the broken walkways, etc. for clean up efforts. They will continue to rebuild!!!

We visited Charlie's Pasture last May. It was a gorgeous experience to see the flats, the wooden walkways, the wildlife, and the information center. As we all know, Hurricane Harvey decided to make a place in history for this little gem. I still encourage people...More
