This was a nice mini excursion from Port A. Grab the ferry at Fisherman's Wharf, (it goes about every hour) and its just a five minute ride to San Jose. There is a very isolated beach and the water was INCREDIBLY clear. If you walk...More

So let down. Came here because of the shelling and pristine beach. Couldn't be farther from what I read and pictures I saw. Wasted $ 12.00.

We packed a picnic and headed to the island. What a wonderful day playing in the sand, looking for shells and watching the boats come in to port. It's a must do event!

My sister and I rode the boat over to San Jose Island from Port Aransas June '17. It's a $12/person ride. I had read several reviews about how fantastic it was and good place for shelling. Ugh! It was the worst waste of our time...More

It was nice going to the island to shell hunt as it is remote and there is not many people on the island. You can take your bike if you want. It was $12.00 a person which was expensive for to fast ride there. It...More
