Lots of people do not know about this place. It's tucked in around old Midland, with trees and beautiful landscaping, it is a must stop. Let your children explore in the little town they have. Always have beautiful art on display.

Its a really cool old mansion turned into a museum but not a whole lot to see. I personally like the Sante Fe Indian art. You can tour it 30 minutes or less regularly but the best time is during the lawn concerts or the...More

During a tour thru westTexas, I checked the book, TEXAS, by Andy Rhodes, who states, "Housed in a sprawling 1937 mansion is the misleading grand-sounding Museum of the Southwest... magnificent home is main attraction." I didn't pay attention to the word "misleading". Don't avoid the...More

This estate and grounds were turned into an art museum, children's museum and planetarium. The art museum is in the main house and besides a permanent collection, special exhibits offer great opportunities. The children's museum and planetarium will entertain the youngest visitors. The grounds are...More

Need to spend a few hours to see and read about all the history. It has upstairs and downstairs. They also host many outside events, like the farmers market.

Visited this museum during the holiday season. It is based on a private home in "old Midland". The displays are beautifully arranged with traveling exhibits throughout the year but is especially nice during Christmas.

I'm not seeing any special events outside or normal operating hours. It's the week after Spring Break in Midland, there is very little going between the end of Spring Break and April 1.
