Prior to visiting I never knew anything about Paul Gachet. He was quite a character, trained as a doctor and a friend and host to many famous artists. The house is pretty small but it's free entry and well worth an hour of your time.

You can glimpse the home of Dr Gachet, the doctor entrusted with caring for Van Gogh's physical and mental health.

One got a real feel of what it must have been like when Van Gogh came to visit. There is an atmosphere that has been preserved - highly recommend the detour which is accessible on foot from the main town.

The house of Docteur Gachet is as gloomy as can be, it stands against falling rocks, you can smell the humidity and the poor girls who are at the entrance look so bored. but it is still worth a visit for the price.
