On a pretty day, Glenwood is a spectacular history lesson, at once very personal and very revealing. There are the monuments, the sculptures, the setting, the flowers, and the tranquility -- all that is patently obvious. But with a guide, you get a real peek...More

I stopped here one day to drive through this very old cemetery to look around. If you are into history and seeing old tombstones and grave markers, this is a place that will fascinate you. I actually did a photo shoot here! One nice thing...More

Howard Hughes, Ben Love and many others are interred here. Glenwood is sometimes known as the River Oaks of cemeteries. I have heard that family plots are still available, but in the $200,000 price range. There are huge trees like Cemetery Oak. There is an...More

Really beautiful cementery, but they close very soon in the afternoon, so make sure, you do not get locked inside. If in neighbourhood, definitely worth the visit.

Come see the historical gravesites of Texas heroes & legions and movie stars. Lavish architectural family plots that are amazing edifices to one's creative design to express their immortality.

This is an amazing cemetary, with magnificent gravestones from many different eras in a lovely park-like setting. If you can manage it, see it with one of the inexpensive tours offered by the Historic Society.

It is a very beautiful cemetery to visit. Surprisingly there aren't many people visiting so you can walk around all day without interrupting people who are there with a purpose. There are some really neat tombstones and cemetery architecture. Lots of old tombstones and some...More

This is not a tourist place - I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone visiting just to look around - but it is a beautiful and large historic cemetery in the heart of Houston, with hills, huge trees, and winding paved roads throughout. There are...More

Surprisingly, this is perhaps one of the more beautiful spaces in Houston. A quiet and serene place. A great opportunity to investigate Houston history.
