The most beautiful cemetery I've ever been. A quiet and peaceful place. You can drive thru the cemetery or stop the car and admire some of the worderful statues (crying angel is great).

this cemetery is peaceful, gorgeous, and surprisingly hilly for Houston which is entirely flat. there're famous people here like Howard Hughes , whose grave is very simple. Another section which contains the Menil family members has beautiful statuary. There is also a secret waterfall to...More

This is a beautiful, well-kept cemetery. It is a great place to take a walk or ride a bike. It is so peaceful and a perfect place to reflect. If you enjoy history, you will find notable Houston residents that go back to the 1800's....More

Such a beautiful cemetary with many, many old graves and beautiful grave markers. Especially, look at the large angels that mark the graves of children. Sad and beautiful. In the back, there is a large oak tree that is awesome.

Very interesting look into the past of Houston's leading families. The money they spent on burying themselves is amazing. Great place to stop and imagine their lives and what they must have been like.

We’ve been to a LOT of cemeteries (mostly to pay our respects to soldiers), but this cemetery is breathtaking. Old Houston family grave sites. Howard Hughes is there (look for the fence or it’s hard to find) = #11 on the map. It’s extraordinarily peaceful....More

It's a cemetery and I apologize for the pun in the title. BUT, it's a Great cemetery with graves of a large number of historical figures associated with the city of Houston, including many famous doctors(Debakey), politicians (Hobby) and of course the infamous Howard Hughes....More
