I was really impressed with this park and it’s size and design. It reminded me of the parks in Washington DC along with the Washington monument. There is a golf course, zoo, theater, and lake. It does get very cold since you’re right by water so would recommend bringing a jacket or hoodie . Amongst the nicest parks I’ve seen in the states

A gem of a park - was not expecting the many attractions.
Spectacular park - was not expecting the many attractions available when visiting. Went mid-morning and found a parking space (and no charge for parking). Walked through the Japanese garden, took a miniature train ride around the park. Many water features to enjoy and places to kick back and rest. Glad we found this gem of a spot during our trip.

    This place is a jewel!!!!
We spent two days wandering around the park & were amazed at how well it is kept & how even in the midst of a city as large as Houston, we could find quiet spots & enjoy wildlife watching. Don't get me wrong, it gets CROWDED. But the people are polite, everything is squeaky clean, and it's just a beautiful beautiful park. We hope to return in warmer weather to see it when everythign is green....

    Herman Park Visit
We definitely recommend visiting this Park while in Houston. It really was impressive how many different sections it had. My 14 year daughter loved the gardens, they also had a lake with rental paddles. I thought the train that takes people around the Park was a GREAT IDEA. We used it to get around the Zoo and all the foot traffic inside park. MUST-DO

    Great urban oark
Lovely urban park, with lots of water and shade. Really well kept grounds, with different themes and home to the zoo and museums amongst other things. A lovely way to spend some time walking and sitting under a tree. We visited the day after a lot of rain, so after we left realise we had insect bites. Spray before you go if the weather is similar for you!

First time visiting this park and it was really nice. I didn't get to make it to the Japanese garden but the little I saw I liked. I plan on going again. Very clean area, crowded

I went here for a walk early in the morning. It’s a real big park and felt very safe. Lots of green space and trails. There were a decent amount of other people out.

It's a big city park designed in the city beautiful style, a classic design with fountains and monuments, meant to be grand and to show off the city, which it does. And some green space for relaxing and picnics.

This is a large park and a nice walk. There are various statues, gardens, and water fountains. There is also a train that probably be fun to take with young kids.

We walked around and through one afternoon. It's so nicely kept, and just a nice place to walk around.
