I am almost afraid to write this review or let people know about this park because it's like a hidden gem...but for those of us who live in Northwest Houston, it's good to know about it, particularly those who have small children.
They have the usual playground. One time we were there, a bunch of bikers were using the park as their gathering place as it had a fairly nice parking lot.
What makes this place unique in my book is that it is also the home of the Houston Area Live Steamers --- club devoted to live steam modeling with a particular emphasis on model trains large enough to ride! Google them for their schedule.
There...the secret is out! They are only open 1 Saturday a month from March thru November, weather permitting, but if someone in your family loves trains, take them here! The best part is the ride is free, and you can ride as often as your timetable allows!
They have a concession stand where they sell souvenirs and drinks and take donations, but otherwise, this free event is put on by volunteers who love these trains! Thank you! Get there early though, as the lines do get long and they are only open until 1 or 2 PM (schedule varies....best to call day of).

This place is AWESOME. Can’t figure out why there aren’t more reviews. It is a little train ride on miniature trains. It is a not for profit organization with serious volunteers. These great people take you on a ride around the park. You travel over bridges and through forests.
3rd Saturday of every month is free! But we always donate. They have a little gift shop with cute little train stuff.
If you have little kids 2-6 or grandkids it is perfect! Highly Recommend!

Took our granddaughter to the Houston Live Steamers, who have a huge model railroad layout just north of this park. Scale locomotives, about 6 feet long, pull cars that kids and parents can ride around the mile-or-so-long track, on every third Saturday (except in December), for FREE!!!! She had a blast, wanted to do it again, so we did. The Steamers are a great bunch, willing to teach and educate, and are very safety conscious. Highly recommend this activity, for little kids on up to oldsters. LOTS of fun!
