My cousin got married here in April and it was such a lovely service. This historic Catholic church has the most beautiful architecture and lovely stained glass windows. There was plenty of room to social distance as they had every other pew roped off for safety.

In the fast growing areas of DFW, most Catholic churches have a decidedly spare, 1960's sleek sort of interior and plain exteriors. St. Patrick's Cathedral in comparison is rather old for a building in the American West. St. Patrick's was constructed in the late 19th century and features architectural details outside and inside that make me miss what I call "Old School" Catholic churches around Pittsburgh where I grew up. St. Patrick's is a lovely place to visit, light a candle, and reflect. Recently St. Patrick's underwent a renovation to repair some structural issues. At Christmas, St. Patrick's puts out a gorgeous Nativity display.

We always attend Mass when we travel. A Cathedral is always a bonus and it was by our hotel. The Blessed Mother with lighting above Her head is the most outstanding view of our Blessed Mother. Another bonus was The Texas State Men Choir was there, swept my heart away.

As a Catholic who lives in Fort Worth, Saint Patrick's is the home of my bishop, so I have a natural affinity for the church. That being said, it's really a beautiful church. Not exactly large--I was married in a much, much larger parish church in Chicago--but what it lacks in size it makes up in beauty.

It's an island of peace in a busy downtown. Drop in for a look around. Stay for Mass if you can.

Plan your visit to either attend Mass, if that is what you wish, or avoid the crowds before, during and after Mass by checking the cathedral website. The Bishop often celebrates Mass here and the choir is very, very good. Remember to check street parking hours to determine if you have to pay or not. The cathedral has a free parking lot next to the Annex accessed via 12th Street.

This is the smallest cathedral I've ever been to but in 2009, it became my home church. No matter what your faith, please come and learn about the history of this gothic-style structure and its significance in Fort Worth history. The mass schedule can be found here: http://www.stpatrickcathedral.org/ Please come for mass or if you want to do the "tourist thing" and take pictures and walk around, please do so an hour before mass or immeidately after mass to respect those who might show up 30 minutes to pray and prepare for the service. If you're there on a 3rd Sunday morning and you're hungry, look for signs for the pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Enjoy the cathedral complex and please feel at home because all are welcome!

This Cathedral is so beautiful with its Mary altar, Gothic columns and stained glass windows. It is a place of peace and showcase of church architecture.

Absolutely beautiful. Totally unexpected. Daily mass about 11. Parking a problem a few blocks away. Right in the heart by sundance square. A short walk to water gardens.
