Visited downtown Fort Worth after 4 years and it’s a skeleton of its former self. Lots of closed businesses and it no longer feels like itself. Used to love hanging out here with the food, stores and Schocolate Factory but it seems like it’s all gone. I took my kids back to enjoy the place but it was empty and the fountains off. The cool cowboy shaped plant is dead.
Went in the middle of the day and it seemed like the few stores there were closed. They had some new art work but nothing else to do but walk around an empty downtown. I had a stroller with two toddlers. It’s stroller friendly but we got followed by a guy in a security uniform, which was weird because we literally just walked on the side walk so we left. Parking used to be validated but prices seems to have gone up drastically. Overall, pretty disappointed that my kids could not enjoy the square because it’s just empty. Was not worth the 1.5 hr drive to visit it.
HIGHLIGHT: Salsa Limon, their tacos are amazing and probably the only thing we enjoyed during this trip to the area. Also the Radio Station is a fun little peek, sometimes you get to see them in action.

We are so sorry that your experience was not up to the expectations that you had in mind. there are several business from 4 years ago that closed due to the pandemic and needed to move on. We are under new management now that is working diligently to open everything back up. The fountains were off in the spring and first part of the summer, because we wanted to treat the water and make sure it was safe for the kids to play in. It is now open and we enjoy seeing the families splash around and cool off in our fountain! We now have live music back in the Plaza that is free to the public and a great place for families to spend their evening! in the last 3 months we have opened several new stores and restaurants. Also Parking is free after 5pm and on weekends and we now offer 2.5 hour of free Validated parking during the weekday.
We are very happy you enjoyed your tacos and we hope that you come back and give us another chance!! We have big announcements and Exciting things about to start in the fall!
Thank you again for posting your concerns, we are working to make improvements on the visitor experience everyday.

Fort Worth downtown area has done a nice job of providing a relaxing area for public events. There a nice fountains and a big area for entertainment. Nothing was happening here when we visited but I believe residents and visitors alike enjoy this venue.

We stopped there briefly late in the afternoon in February during our walk around Fort Worth. There weren't any concerts or activities in the area so it wasn't very crowded. The fountain and mural were interesting. There were tables to sit at and security so it felt safe. We were glad we stopped. and recommend it as a stop if you are exploring Fort Worth.

We were not sure about how safe it was to walk around downtown Fort Worth. But it was very safe. We stayed in the 25 square block of the area centered around Sundance. Lots of eateries. A number of hotels. Several buildings have historical markers and you learn that the photo that identified Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid was made in Fort Worth. There is a large marker of them across the street from the convention center.
In Sundance Square, there is an open plaza, places to sit. Several restaurants surround the plaza. There is a large wall sculpture of a Cattle Drive. There is music through the speakers most of the day. It is a very relaxing area to sit for a spell while walking around the rest of downtown Fort Worth.

My son and I came here for an event at Dickies arena but stayed at the Worthington.
We spent the entire evening walking around Sundance Square. There was a low rider car show that was so fun to see. Live music was all around, and several roads were blocked off so people could walk around freely. The shops and shop employees were all super nice and friendly. Can’t say enough good about this place.

This area has grown up a whole lot. Lots of eateries, shopping and hotel accommodations. If you are not from the area, definitely put this on your list to visit, you will not be disappointed. There is always something going on from live entertainment to just special events. Great location and fun for friends or couples. You can even catch a good play at the playhouse..

We found Sundance Square while walking through downtown Ft. Worth. It's a large area in the center of the city with quite a few tables/chairs and a water feature. It was a very nice day so we sat outside and had lunch......it's near quite a few good restaurants.

The description of this place makes it sound exciting and lots of things to do. We get there and it’s so hard to find a parking spot, we had to walk about a mile away. We finally get to the square and absolutely nothing is going on… on a Saturday afternoon. The stores are so random (stores that nobody really wants to shop at) and so far apart. There weren’t very many dining options. Can’t blame the pandemic because people were there, hence the parking issue. But no live music anywhere, nothing to look at other than tall buildings, etc. I’m glad I got this out of my system because now I know not to ever bother coming back.

Used to be so much better. Went in the afternoon with my husband and 2yo - nothing to see but Starbucks. All parking is expensive. Kids can’t even put their feet in the water fountain. One security guard said we could stand by the edge (torture for a toddler boy) then another said we couldn’t even do that and he was going to ask us to leave. Didn’t have to because there was no reason to stay. Saw other disappointed families make a lap and do the same.

Ft Worth did "downtown" right. Most communities do it wrong. Sundance Square in the center of downtown Ft Worth is really quite nice...and a fun place to go to. My first experience of Sundance Square was quite a few years ago when my son played football for the University of Kansas and they played the University of Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl. Actually, Kansas blew Houston out of the water, and won going away in that game. Anyway, KU had a "Pep Rally" at Sundance Square. Sundance Square was the perfect venue for the function and I became a fan. Most recently, I attended a several day conference in "downtown" Ft Worth. The event was held in the Sundance Square area, which means I spent several days in the area. Restaurants, shops, bars, retail locations, outdoor space...and the "water/light" presentation all make Sundance Square a "must experience" when visiting Ft Worth. I'm a fan!

Fui en auto al lugar, pero tuve que utilizar Uber desde las afueras de Fort Worth, y no tuve ningún problema con el servicio.
Una vez que llegas a Sundance, lo recorres caminando.

What is the best time to get to Sundance Square for New Year's? We have a 10pm dinner reservations at Mercury Stakehouse near the Square. Also, is it like Big D NYE where it's a crowd standing - no place to sit? Thank you ;)
