Texas Motor Speedway is a great track that is easy to navigate. Large parking areas with shuttles make it easier to get to where you are going in a shorter amount of time. The shopping choices are great and the food is something we always look forward to!

Waited for a while to get in which we expected, cars were going in that were behind us so the lines were disorganized and kinda unfair. Then we get in and it was disappointing, wasn't spectacular at all. Wasted over an hour of our time for lights that were poorly placed and most not working. Sadly for me and my family it was a waste of money and gas. Will not return for another visit...should've read the reviews before going.

Please don’t waste your money on the Gift of Lights display. It was so hard to see with the large bulbs so close. We had little kids and teenagers and none of them were impressed. Neither were my husband or myself. It took over an hour to get in and then nowhere to go to the restroom! Not good for little kids!!

Attended an Xfinity race on Saturday and Cup race on Sunday. Races were excellent. Good competition. It was very warm both days but fun. Our seats were in the sun for about the first hour and then the sun moved around and the seats were in the shade after that. The track provided wet towels to help with the heat. Very nice.
We will be back next year.

This was a nice speedway. The grounds were clean, and the views of the race were awesome. There are ample food and drink choices available. My only complaint is that they funneled the whole crowd out one entrance at the end although that route did put us directly on I-35W south which is what we needed. It was a long road and a long wait to get out though.

Great place to watch a race. Not a bad seat in the house! My dad and I used to live in Indianapolis so we are used to the 500. Unlike IMS, this is a great place to be. Always better seats on the smaller tracks. Close concessions and bathrooms. A large variety of food choices.

Although over 180,000 fans may pack into this place during race weekends, for much of the year the place is relatively quiet. However, tours of the facilities are offered year round and are fascinating, even if you aren’t a fan. Our entire family (including young kids and my retired parents) really enjoyed the tour, and none of us have ever been interested in NASCAR.
Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and took a real interest in explaining everything about the facility. Tours head out from the gift shop in a 15-passenger van. You’ll drive past the smaller dirt track (which still seats 15,000+), the condo building (yes, people purchase condo apartments right on the rack, and only use them a few times a year), and then through the tunnel into the infield. You’ll see the bays were the cars are maintained and then get out to see Victory Lane. The highlight is two laps around the track itself. Our van got up to about 70mph – well short of the 190mph+ the NASCAR cars will do, but still quite fun.
The tour explains the wide variety of increasingly pricy options there are to watch the race – including a luxury condo building, the raceway club, RV parking spots in the infield and along the back straight-away, luxury boxes, and grand stand seats (including the premium PSL seats, which you need to purchase up front and then still buy season tickets for). During the tour you’ll get a feel for just how huge this place is – our tour guide mentioned that you could fit the new Dallas Cowboys stadium 4 times over in the infield. The rest of the tour will show you the view from the premium seats, and the will include with a tour of one of the luxury boxes. Tours are scheduled to last an hour, but ours went a little long as the guide really wanted us to see everything.
You’ll learn some other interesting trivia on the tour as well – like the fact that the entire track is built below ground level to avoid wind.
IMPORTANT: Call ahead to make sure your tour will be able to get out on the track. If you call in the morning they’ll have a good idea of whether the track will be in use, but you’ll need to call right before you leave (an hour or less in advance) to confirm it.

Any race fan will be more than satisfied attending the Indycar race at TMS every June. Its a night race so you dont have to deal with the heat.
To make your visit even more interesting, buy a pit pass ... it gives you access to the garage and pit lane areas plus youll get to meet all of the drivers.
The main grandstands have plenty of concessions and restrooms, youll never have to wait in line for either.
The concessions are a little expensive so be ready for that. Prices from the June 8, 2013 race - 32 ounce sweet tea $7, plain hot dog $5, beer in aluminum longneck bottles $7 ... you get the idea. You can save a ton of money by bringing your own food and beverages (including beer) in an ice chest which they DO allow you to bring inside, just check the official website for size restrictions.
Most every seat on the front stretch has a good view. If you sit from about row 25 and higher you can see the entire track.
***Avoid the backstretch seats during NASCAR races. Theyre cheap but you get what you pay for ... very limited view of the track.

Terrible .. Looks like your neighbor just put up a bunch of yard art. Just misplaced and odd shaped lights in front of the concession stands. It is $30 a car and a waste. If you can travel to Santa Land do it as it is so much better .

Why does TMS have a FT Worth address being in Denton County? Just curious
Written October 30, 2018
Fort Worth has expanded its boundaries in all directions. It includes the speedway.

I see the cooler size, but are there and rules/restrictions for purses and or backpacks?
Written August 19, 2018
Just use common sense. Do not go in with a mega size purse or backpack. They search purses and backpacks at the gate.
Written August 20, 2018
Yes. All food and drinks but no glass. You can bring in alcohol too and parking is free. Bring ear plugs
