It’s still good to bring a flashlight with red cellophane over the lens, even though the paths here at Canyon of the Eagles Park are now nicely illuminated with red lights. For $7 per adult, this is an excellent experience. Leave your sleepy toddlers at...More

There were two very powerful telescopes which the presenter set up for the group to view planets, and etc. The extremely knowledgable presenter quickly went 'over our heads' but for those more more educated in astronomy it would be an excellent visit. Unfortunately it was...More

We were the only ones that showed up recently to view the night sky. Perhaps it was because it was very cloudy. It worked out better for us because we had the astronomer all to ourselves. He shared his knowledge of the night sky with...More

The astronomer is very knowledgeable and entertaining the place is perfect for star gazing , the observatory is nothing exciting it's a shack with two huge telescopes but the stars you see it's amazing just have to have a clear night

Even though the conditions weren't ideal for star gazing the night that we went, Astronomer Jim Sheets is a wealth of knowledge and helped explain the vastness and beauty of the universe. Be sure to check it out - you won't be disappointed!

We really enjoyed the guided time of star gazing. It was mesmerizing. Everyone got a turn to look through the giant telescope and the instructor was fascinating.

This is an outstanding evening of stargazing, led by Jim, who was most knowledgeable and friendly. There are two telescopes for star viewing and Jim educates viewers about the constellations in a very accessible manner. Make sure to dress warmly as this is an outdoor...More

This observatory is about thirty minutes from "downtown" Burnet at the Canyon of the Eagles Resort. We highly recommend a trip to the resort and you can see more about that in our trip advisor review. The drive is long enough (from Austin) that you...More
