Alcatraz East is a crime museum featuring an in depth look at American Crime History which includes artifacts from Alcatraz, but this is not a Museum dedicated solely to Alcatraz.Explore American History from a different perspective. Five unique galleries burrow deep into the studies of criminal intent, criminal profiles, the penal system, victims, crime prevention, forensic science, law enforcement and the Judiciary Branch of government. The museum is 25,000 square feet spread over 2 floors and includes over 100 interactives.

Could have spent all day, so much good stuff to read, it is not about Alcatraz, it is a history museum about American crime. Two of the four of us went through much faster. I felt rushed and skipped some sections. Lots of reading material...More

The exhibits were interesting. The only issue I had was that some people were too slow and I had to wait around at times for someone to finish.

Really cheesy. Not much to look at except some videos and a lot of signs. Very few artifacts, and mostly reproductions. Go to the real Alcatraz if you want a fun experience. This place isn't worth the money.

I had really high expectations for this place but it wasn't that great. There were some interesting pieces in there but I wouldn't go back.

It's not graphic or gory in the sense that it'll traumatize them. There are a few real crime photos in certain sections but because of the way the museum is laid out,it'd be easy to bypass those images. There is a laser... More

I think a young child would be very bored. It's mostly history of crime. There is a section on serial killers that is more current. But most everything else is historical in nature. And like many others have said there are... More

We have several benches throughout the museum for you to stop and rest for a moment. Our museum is very large and typically takes 2-3 hours to complete so be prepared to visit us for a long time!
