It all started with Taylor Swift.....8/29/23
I had no idea why we were going to this magnificent park in the city, but knew that it was cheaper than everything else going on in the city. When we strolled the grounds and enjoyed the lake we miraculously stumbled upon a bench that the city had erected in honor of Taylor Swift and dedicated it to her when she visits Nashville. My daughter started pulling props out of a bag and I became the photographer. As we were leaving a mother and daughter approached for their turn at the bench and the mother said: "Swifties?" I said that one of us was. After visiting an art studio and buying some gifts for those at home, we made our way to the Parthenon. We visited the gift shop and bought more souvenirs before heading in to the art exhibit and the 41 foot statue of Athena, covered in 8 pounds ($65,000) of gold leaf. The person she held in her hand is over 6 feet tall and looks small.

    Not quite Athens, but....no pollution.
This was our last day in Nashville before returning to the UK. The park was a short walk from our hotel and lovely to sit by the lake on a cool Autumn early afternoon having some lunch. Very tranquil and plenty of wildlife on the lake and in the park and the trees were just turning golden/red. Didn't find the Taylor Swift bench or have time to go into the impressive replica of the Parthenon, but hey, hopefully in the very near future.

    a leisurely stroll
Instead of venturing inside, we opted for a leisurely 1.5-hour ramble around the grounds, soaking in the meticulously maintained landscapes. The architect's vision unfolded as we followed an audio tour, weaving tales of design choices and the building's fascinating history. While the grand interior remained unseen, the edifice's presence was undeniable, exuding an air of timeless elegance. Ample parking eased the entire experience, making this exploration a breeze from start to finish.

    Beautiful Park
This park is very pretty and easy to navigate. Depending on the day of the week/time of day you visit, there may be free, live music in the park! You can take some great photos here or go for a short jog. It was a very pretty park!

This is a mediocre city park with all the typical trappings- a few memorials, some sculptures, etc. There is not an awful lot to do, nor is it exceptionally expansive. Probably nice for a walk, run, or picnic and not much else.

Total waste of time for tourists. It is no different than any other park, so unless you want to spend a day in the park do something that is unique to Nashville.

We spent several hours at the park strolling and finding Taylor Swift’s bench for our daughters. It’s a beautiful park with lots of people and lots to do.

It’s a park, with a replica building in it…
We didn’t go in, my friends spouse and my spouse walked all the way to the building.. he and I sat on the concrete box (?) and enjoyed the weather.
Not anything to write home about.
