A spring spectacular! The National Rhododendron Gardens are host to brilliantly coloured blooms of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, cherries and daffodils. Seasonal changes ensure the gardens are a delight all year around. When not in bloom, you...more

I love this place, I discovered it in Autumn and it was so beautiful! It is free, and if you do the whole walk, you get to spend a really nice day out. It is mostly pram friendly although there are some side paths that...More

The National Rhododendron Gardens are beautiful in Autumn. I am sure that they are at least as good in Spring, but I haven't yet managed to get there at any other time of year. The Autumn colours are stunning, not something that you can see...More

It was a cool and sunny day and a walk around these gardens is a must. In autumn, the red leaves make excellent hues that photographs do not do justice. It is a great spot to travel and visit for sure.

Although we visited at the wrong time of year and therefore didn’t see any flowers, this garden is still very nice to walk through and enjoy the fresh air, and you might even see a lyre bird!

Lovely place for strolling around. It was autumn, so the flowers weren't in full bloom, but the trees, shrubs, gardens, and ponds were worth the trip. I'm sure it will be gorgeous in the Spring.

Even though the flower display was not evident (because of the timing of the visit) it was the great examples of trees and plants that kept me entranced. Well maintained and plenty of space to throw down a rug and enjoy a picnic with great...More

Like a typical botanical garden. The beauty depends on the season. I can imagine the colourful foliage in autumn and beautiful flowers in spring. But it was mostly green when we went.

I was there on a very wet autumn day and it was still delightful. I believe the Rhododendrons are out in November, so it would be even more stunning then.

Hi Ann, Spring is a great time to visit - the magnolias are at their peak and looking wonderful. Early rhododendrons and camellias are now in flower along with daffodils, proteas and hellebores. The cherry trees bloom... More
