A once lovely garden. Now neglect and sad. Weeds and dead plants. The $15 entry is excessive. Payable even if you only want to visit the cafe or nursery. The plants for sale are way over priced. A total
was of money.

I have to agree with the previous review from March 2023. This place has sadly lost its character and charm. Yes, there were several parts of this property that were beautiful however if you look past the plants there is rubble and rubbish thrown in piles all over the place. There were some beautiful plants and landscaping but again the ugly sight of weeds and rubbish just spoiled the experience. Sadly there is a lack of funding however it really does show that the funds have gone into the shop and nursery areas which look impeccable compared to the rest. It is a 3 acres property but you can only get to see about half of it. The rest of it was closed off but you can clearly see that the area not allowed for the public needs some serious love and attention. We have been past this property for many years and finally decided to come. However it was unfortunate to see if such a far cry from what it used to look like.
Fingers crossed that this place gets back to the glory days but as it also slightly off the beaten track, I don't think this place will come back.

This beautiful garden and house are in serious need of an injection of funds to restore them to their original splendor. Todays visit was disappointing, not only because it was $15 entry (up from $10 in 2022) to see the garden which did not resemble the photographs on Tripadvisor. Sadly there were large areas that needed TLC, pruning, irrigating, clearing out and more. The citrus garden was a collection of trees struggling to thrive without much sign of care.
When I asked at the garden shop why the garden looked so unkempt in places, the answer, was due to the lack of funding. Plus new landscaping is being undertaken which is taking up what funds are available.
I know nothing about how the garden it funded but if it is primarily from gate takings and some profit from the garden shop nothing will improve. The less attractive the gardens, the less visitors etc.
Hopefully this gem on the Mornington Peninsula will not go the way of many enterprises post Covid.

You would think if you spent $100 on lunch for two you wouldn't have to pay the $10 entry fee to look at the gardens.

Anyway - lunch was fine - a little slow and a little expensive and not much choice but we did enjoy what we received. Not enough to be back though. Very nice views.

A beautiful spot with lots of history in a lovely garden. The $10 entry per person is a bit steep but the delicious scones, amazing scenery and sunny day made it worthwhile.

The three of us had a very enjoyable visit, on a gorgeous day that was ideal for wandering the interesting gardens and taking teas and iced coffee with delicious scones on the terrace. We’re pleased we wandered up the hill to visit the shop and nursery. Our thanks to the staff who helped with pre-visit information about disabled access and on the day.

A very beautiful garden that you can and should spend an hour wandering around before having lunch, the food for which is largely sourced from the garden

The meal and wine were excellent

Will definitely go again

Beautiful stroll through the gardens with the magnificent old buildings. Great inspiration for gardening and knowledgeable staff to help select plants, seeds and products from their nursery and store. Missed the cafe ( we turned up after 3pm) so go earlier if you want to try the great food and coffee.

Drove down on a lovely sunny day to Dromana and up the hill to Heronswood.
The gardens are spectacular, as is the view out to the bay.
We had a very tasty lunch - made from items grown on the estate.

The meal at Heronswood was spectacular - such wonderful, fresh, local ingredients put together in inspired ways.

The setting is gorgeous- beautiful, elegant rooms with wonderful views. Had the day been better we could have eaten outside on the verandah.

The gardens are wonderful to roam around.

A high point was how friendly and happy everyone who worked there was - it made for such a relaxing trip.
