Unwelcoming signs
Sep 2021 • Couples
Peel Farm used to be a lovely welcoming place. I’m not sure if it has changed ownership but recently the shop has decided to put some very unwelcoming, passive aggressive signs up. Maybe there has been a problem with breakages but nearly every stand in the shop now has a sign with different variations on “do not touch”. In particular the “don’t rummage in the freezer” and “ don’t touch what you don’t intend to pay for” are not really the welcoming atmosphere that I’d have thought tourists, let alone locals, would have expected. It’s a real shame as it is such a lovely place with great food.

Amazing Glamping Experience
Jul 2021 • Couples
Just home from an amazing 2 day stay in a glamping pod. The area, staff, accommodation and animals of course were outstanding. Could not have asked for better and can’t wait to visit again.

Great customer service and decent food, lovely coffee with a fair choice on the menu, a warm atmosphere in a beautiful area, our tummies were happy for hours, we will be visiting again, thank you

Disappointed
Jul 2020 • Family
I have visited Peel farm more than few times. Mostly the quality of food has been good. However this visit was disappointing to say the least.
I asked for gluten free toast with bacon. There was only one slice of curled up dry bacon on each half of the toast. My husband and daughter had a panini which came with accompanying salad and coleslaw, I thought perhaps mine could have had this too? Or at least two slices of bacon to make up for it, it just looked so unappetising. I should have complained at the time as it wasn't worth the money, but I was put off by the unfriendly staff. I know staff have commented recently about customers being rude and not following social distancing rules or wearing masks but I regret to say some of the staff were acting like it was an inconvenience that we were there. I usually am a fan of Peel farm but on this occasion, it's out me off returning soon.

Hidden gem!
Feb 2020 • Couples
Came across here by chance after visiting reekie linn. Staff were attentive and helpful. The toasties were great, especially the coronation chicken one! Can’t recommend the milkshakes enough, had the crunchie one and must have finished it in seconds!
A little on the expensive side but it is obvious the food is of good quality and fresh so don’t mind the extra cost. The cakes looked amazing and can’t wait to return to try them!

A nice coffee shop
Jan 2020
We drove out through the lovely surrounding countryside for some lunch and afterwards felt Peel Farm is right to describe itself as a coffee shop rather than a cafe.

If you're after soup, sandwiches and homebaking, you'll be very fine. There's a limited choice of anything more substantial unless there's a special on.

We enjoyed our food, albeit the sausage panini was somewhat randomly accompanied by fresh berries and also came with cheese, which wasn't on the description. We don't have any allergies like dairy but many people do these days and this could have come as an unwelcome surprise.

There's a quirky farm shop and gallery to wander around and plenty of parking. There are toilets but the mens are accessed by going out of the coffee shop and around the side of the building.

Warm, cozy, country cafe and gift shop
Dec 2019
Although decidedly off the beaten path, Peel Farm is worth the search for a warm, cozy lunch in the Scottish countryside. Our initial visit, on Boxing Day found the Peel Farm closed, but we made a second effort the next day and were glad we did. The simple lunch menu of warm soups & sandwiches was wonderful. The staff was bright and very helpful. All of our parties choices of soups and sandwiches was very good. We also chose to take away locally made and delicious scones and pieces of a coffee cake for dessert and snacks later.
Our visit to their gift store was also well worth it, being able to find many Scottish made gifts for home.
Even with our GPS it was a challenge to find, but well worth the drive. When next your near Blairgowrie, Alyth, or Kirriemuir, drop in.

Great for a soup and a sandwich
Dec 2019 • Friends
Nice place for a soup and a sandwich on a cold winter’s day. There is also a lovely gift shop selling arts, crafts and antiques.

Only criticism is they could do with fixing the gents’ toilet door as it doesn’t shut properly.

Best find!
Oct 2019 • Family
Great little find wether it’s for a quick coffee or a full blown afternoon out. It’s friendly and inviting and one of our favourite spots to visit when up that way... only downside they switch to winter hours.

Quick coffee
Jun 2019 • Couples
Called in for a quick coffee - a nice little place with a few outside tables. They also have a deer walk which was great fir us, saw more deer here than at the deer centre! There is also a little shop with artisan gifts and food and a selection of crafts beers. Nice place to call in.
