Good test of golf. Spoiled by some unplayable bunkers, which could benefit from a complete redesign (bunkers should slope from front to back, not the other way round) 15th hole needs a drop zone through the green as there is a steep slope with nothing to stop the ball running into bushes and no where to take a penalty drop within 2club lengths.…

An excellent course which is not long but you definitely need to be straight off the tee, the greens had recently been cored and dressed which made them unpredictable. £28 for three rounds of golf you can't complain to much. The best thing was the weather unusually good for Scotland. Would recommend a visit.…

The Troon municipal golf courses are gems, the club house was extended many years ago and now provides excellent facilities for golfers. The course starts and ends in front of the club house then goes across the road. The course itself has a great layout and overall the greens were good, the bunkers let it down, horrible sand because they can't leave rakes around as they get stolen, takes away a little from the golf experience. The fairways were a little shabby in places but I have played private members courses at twice the price that were far worse condition, overall it was in good condition. it certainly isn't an easy course with lots of danger, but it is a fair course and only really bites the very bad shots, some really interesting holes.…

A quality municipal golf course which will test any golfer. Pro shop very helpful and have a good selection of kit
