We certainly enjoyed our visit there was an exhibition of beautiful paintings of plants and flowers. Also some fabulous flower arrangements such a skill. Buy a bunch then stick them in a vase is my skill!! Two ladies there were helpful in answering questions and...More

Just stumbled across the East Church when wandering through Cromarty. Now a redundant church it was full of history which you could sense. It is well worth a visit if you are in this area.

The church, which has not been used for worship since 1998, has been very well preserved by a charity I have never heard of but who clearly know their business. There is information on boards and in booklets in the church. It charts the history...More

We were just wandering through Cromarty when we came across the East Church. The exterior was interesting, but the interior was very special and in great shape. They have an extensive description of its past. Scotland is doing a marvelous job in preserving places like...More

Cromarty is a delightful little town anyway but the East Church was most unexpected. Disused now but one of the most evocative buildings of its type we have seen in terms of a lifestyle now gone. The original pews, all of different sizes and the...More

The church doesn't look anything from the outside, so we probably wouldn't have gone in, but as they were having a flower and art exhibition we ventured inside. The inside is beautiful and worth a look. The exhibition was an added bonus.

To be found, surprisingly on Church Street, this could easily be missed if you do not know it is there, as it is only vaguely recognisable as a church as we know it from the outside and is behind a large wall. Inside it is...More

This is a step into the past, fascinating history. If you get chance to sing or goto a concert here- go! The acoustics are amazing and what a peaceful place with some sorrowful history of times gone by.

It's all to easy to walk past this architectural wonder, and you'd be missing out. For starters, you'll never have seen so many daddy long legs, for some unknown reason uncommonly attracted to the outer church walls. The inner wooden church has been restored extensively...More

The simplicity of the church and it's design, decor etc were powerful in portraying its role in the community. Anything added was carefully considered and subtly handled. Information supplied outlined the important aspects of the church and its constituent elements. Charming.
