Lovely bit of coast with a small causeway to Burgh Island, nice beaches and a laid back atmosphere, had a lively coffee at the cafe whilst sitting on the beach

We have visited this beach before and it’s still as good as before clean, safe and lovely clear water. Just be aware of the tides there isn’t much beach left when the tide is in.

A lovely beach
Aug 2021 • Family
Great beach and lovely amenities. Would highly recommend. Car park is close to the beach (60 steps away). I know because my daughter counted them so had to double check!!!
The beach was really clean, lots of sand when the tide went out and the water was clear

Stunning Beach
Aug 2021 • Family
Visited by chance on way back from another town and so glad we did. Stunning beach and lovely coastal walk around the bay. Lovely little hotel across the sand but the tide did not help us. Would have loved to spend more time here

GREAT BEACH AND A DECENT CAFE
Aug 2021
The beach here is amazing! A vast expanse of sand with lots of interesting rocky outcrops (and what looked like good surf, though I wouldn't know about that!). Nice clean cafe, serving good coffee , tea, etc. On the day we visited, due to staff shortages, their kitchen was closed, so can't comment on the food.

Good beach but beware of the car park

Beautiful beach that wasn’t too crowded. Great views of Burgh Island from the car park. Cafe and free to use toilets. Be warned though, there was no mobile signal at the car park, so we couldn’t use our data to pay for parking on Ringo. So bring change with you!

Beach and river experience
Jun 2021
This is a beautiful beach by any measure, and there is almost too much to talk about. The sand is superb and gently shelving so there is a big difference in the waterline between high and low tide. The famous Burgh Island lies a few hundred metres off shore and is accessible by foot across the beach 3 hours or so either side of low tide. When the sand is covered Burgh island us still accessible via an ancient ‘sea tractor’.
If you like walking and you have dogs, the area to the east of the causeway is a great space when the tide is out. You can walk along the sand by the side of the River Avon which divides the Bigbury beach from the Bentham sands...or at low tide you can wade across the river. If you decide to stay on the Bigbury side you can walk up the estuary a considerable way. A seasonal man-and-a-boat ferry part way up the estuary joins two sections of the coastal path for walkers both serious and casual.
Breathtaking
