The Kingsport Carousel Project began in 2008 and has now involved around 400 volunteers from Kingsport and many surrounding communities. Volunteers have worked tirelessly with the goal of creating and operating a carousel for Kingsport. The Carousel features hand-carved wooden animals and chariots and original paintings on a refurbished/rebuilt 1956 Herschell frame. Rides=$1

The Carousel is such a beautiful, artful thing to see. The local talent which volunteered their time to carve, paint, and assemble this Carousel is impressive. And the history & beauty of this area is also depicted in the artwork which surrounds this attraction. Nice...More

I enjoyed my ride on my moving horse. It was hard for me to get down off of the horse. Next time I will ride a smaller horse.

The weight limit is 200 pounds for the movable animals. They are hollow and hand carved. One of the operators the last time we were there told us that a few had to be repaired recently.
