This cemetery is said to be the largest military in private ownership in the entire world. Small stone blocks mark the graves of individual soldiers. Tall columnar monuments are set for each of the 13 Confederate states, and the number of fallen soldiers recorded.

Solemn final resting place of union and confederate soldiers...many unkown. Next to Carlton House who ownersdonated the land and their time to bury the unfortunate after the Battle of Franklin

If you are a history and civil war buff a must to visit. Lots of history. The cemetery is well kept and easy to walked through. Must see

This graveyard is part of a old plantation grounds. Interested in history then stop. Also there is a lot walking trails to get out a stretch your legs.

This is a must see if you are into history. The cemetery is surrounded by mature trees. There are several benches to sit. The graves are clearly marked. Definitely worth the stop. This site is free, but if you want to tour the house there...More

Unlike many civil war cemeteries, this installation is privately and properly maintained and secure. Applications for federal support have been denied, although the National Park Service has made grants to the entire complex of buildings, gardens, and lands.
