We just moved here and looking to see some sights. We booked the 4 hour pontoon ride on Lake Jocassee. All I can say it was totally awesome! The weather was hot and our guide, Ken, took us to the beach area to swim and also to three different waterfalls where swimming was available as well. It was a beautiful day and so happy that we were able to enjoy! You can bring snacks and drinks on board also. Ken was very knowledgeable about the entire area and gave us a lot of info on history, terrain, plant life, etc. best day ever!

Jocassee Adventures is a really nice place to get hooked up for fun on, and in, beautiful Lake Jocassee - a perfect mountain lake. I've personally visited 5 of the waterfalls on this lake and even kayaked behind one of them! I mentioned in the lake because these friendly folks are the ones to go to for SCUBA diving in the area (Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee depending on the time of year). It's always a treat to enjoy the scenery during the boat ride across the lake to the dive site and then slip into the cool water in the shadow of the cliff wall. If you're not SCUBA certified but would like to be they'll be glad to get you in one of their classes. They also have complete equipment rentals and compressors for air and nitrox fills. I also want to mention that these folks are super-friendly and helpful which is why they earn my repeat business year after year.

I am coming tomorrow (sunday) with my own kyack ... I would like to know if the $50 park pass is what is required for entrance, and where to go for public access to put in my kyack and park.

I think you would just need to purchase an entrance fee to Devils Fork State Park (a few $) once in there there is a rather large public parking area where people pull in to unload their boats, jet skis, etc. parking is right there. Hope this answers your question.
