If you can go horseback riding somewhere else, please do. I choose them because it had the greatest rate. The morning of my child got sick and the person who was suppose to watch her, would not. We were 1 1/2 hours away and could not take a sick child in the car and just leave them there. We are from out of town, and had no choose. I called and explained the situation ( first of all it took be calling over and over for 1 hour) the person was rude and would not even think about refunding any of our money. I know it was on the paper that you have to give 24 hours notice but sometimes you can't. The lady on the phone told be her boss would return my call and we can discuss it. That was Friday 7/10 today is 7/13 and still no has called, to me this is very unprofessional to be rude and not return calls. They said I could reschedule but I am from out of time. The amount was over $200 and I got nothing back but an email asking me for a review.

We headed to Camelot Farms for the "Plantation Ride" in December. We rode out in a group of 5 with a guide. The farm is beautiful, the horses were saddled and ready to go, and each were groomed to perfection.
We had selected the 1 hour Plantation Ride, keen to see what it was like and decide if the Beach Ride would be worth it. Our ride was 50 minutes and merely took us around the perimeter of the farm itself- past the barn, various pastures and loads of power lines. The horses were well trained, but the scenery was FAR from "Plantation" and we saw better sights driving to Camelot Farms from Fripp Island.

When in doubt, skip the Plantation Ride (at $50/person) and spring for the Beach option. You might get a chance to get off the property and see some amazing sights.

This is such a shame. I have always enjoyed going to Camelot Farms and have been every year for the past several years. I was initially excited to hear Camelot had opened back up the camping facilities and decided that although the price has increased 300% as compared to before the sale, I would continue my tradition of beach riding with my best friend. I contacted Gini Quade who had stated in several posts on FB to reach out and she could facilitate this trip. She also provided a number to call. I have called the number several times this week with no response. I then reached out again through text message and the message was read but no reply. Again, I tried calling only to find out I was provided the wrong number. I reached out yet again through FB to let Ms. Quade know that I was provided the wrong number and requested the correct number. Yet again the message was read with zero response. Unfortunately, the weekend has now arrived and STILL cannot get a response. I will be contacting management. Good luck to all of you who try to plan a trip. I hope you have much more success than I have had. This has been a very disappointing experience.

This ride had so much wasted potential . We were a mixed group of riders from very experienced to first timers . Our guides were two young women that I’m sure love horses and are excellent groomers but they were very poor trail guides . They had a young man that had never even been on a horse lead the group , the guides situated themselves side by side in the middle of the pack and only talked to each other about their summer plans . No guidance , no instructions , no safety protocol . These two guides had no control over this ride at anytime . The missed opportunity was the actual ride itself . There was no information about where we were no historical recount of the area , no significance to our surroundings . We were on a very old historical plantation for the majority of the ride I only know this after looking it up post ride . In closing I would NOT recommend this ride or this company until they can better train their guides on safety protocol and a lesson in history .

This company is refusing to refund me over $400 for their mistake. Scheduled ride for 4 at 10:00am the next day through their website. Received call from manager at 9:00pm that evening with schedule conflict. Offered to cancel, but manager stated he would call back in the morning to let us know whether they could accommodate us or not. I called the manager back at 9:30am and left a message that we would be cancelling and requested my card be refunded since we had not heard back from him. A few weeks later, I contacted the owner and she was only willing to refund $125 for one rider, claiming that they had horses ready and waiting for us. We would have been there, had the manager not contacted us the night prior. If you choose to ride with this company, pay in person at the time of your session. But I would highly recommend finding another service.

We booked a trail ride at Camelot Farms during our recent visit to Beaufort. We had a wonderful ride. The booking process on their website was very easy. We did a morning ride that included a walk on the beach and near a plantation house. It was a nice trail ride and the horses had a lot of energy. Hayley was our guide and she was very good. We really enjoyed the trail ride and I recommend trying to book a morning ride in the summer. It gets hot!

I convinced my husband and 15 year old son to go on the one hour trail ride. We had a great time. Our guide was very personable. I forgot her name but she was a young lady from Kentucky. The horses were super sweet! We rode around the entire property and all of the horses seemed very well taken of.
I took a private lesson a few months ago to help me overcome my fear about riding. I used to ride when I was young but after getting injured , horses would always sense my fear.
My private lesson really helped me refresh about riding and become more comfortable.
Today when I returned to go on the trail ride I was calm and really enjoyed myself.
It was a great way to start off our New Year.
The only downside were the bugs. Once we started riding the bugs weren't bad at all.
Don't forget your bug spray!
The the trail ride was not crowded either. The horses seemed happy and not tired.
I can't wait to go on the longer ride next time.

This is the 4th time we have been here to ride, mainly because it’s the only horseback ride I have found on the beach.
Our previous rides were great, the other tour guides were informative, allowed us to get a few feet into the ocean and even trot around a little as our entire group was very experienced.
However this experience was absolutely terrible. The “tour guide” obviously hated his job or maybe just that day.
He hardly spoke, did not give any information or history, did not allow us to get in the water, was rude when he did speak and the worst part of the entire “ride” was the fact he was chain smoking cigarettes the entire time! Since he was in the front of the line, his smoke kept blowing back to the rest of us. He even threw his dead cig butts on the ground the entire ride. Very unprofessional and did not recommend.
The place should really get better guides who enjoy their jobs!
We had no fun on this ride and couldn’t wait for it to be over. A usually enjoyable ride was definitely not all due to one person. The only reason they get the two stars is because of how good the horses were and the view.

Staff had horses saddled (all Western) and ready to go right on time. A beautiful leisurely ride through wooded areas to get to a short rest-and-ride and pictures on the beach.

Our guide was good about letting us know what order the horses needed to be in (to prevent scuffles between the more and less dominant ones). Sam, the horse I rode, was wonderful. (The newer saddle on Sam was quite hard and got uncomfortable after a short time.)

My husband and I brought our 2 grandsons for the 2 hour ride. I was given a very slow horse that continually needed pushed to stay up. I didn’t even feel like I was with my family because the horse wouldn’t stay up without constant effort. It was not enjoyable whatsoever. I have ridden all my life so I know how not to allow a horse to take advantage of me.
We were also disappointed that the beach ride was all of about 5 minutes of the ride.
