The only reason we didn't give a 5 rating was because of parking. The pier was great and no charge. The structure was the best I have seen and the observatory being two story was cool. Love the bar area and outside eating. The beach...More

The viewing deck at the end is especially nice. It is a wider pier with plenty of room for the fishermen as well as those just wanting to take in the view.

I love the pier at sunrise. It's breath taking to sit and watch the sun come up over the ocean. It's so peaceful.

We stayed close to the pier and love the accommodations the pier had to offer. Food, fishing supplies, picnic tables, rest rooms were just some of the amenities.

After completing my early morning walk along the beach, I decided to walk the length of the pier and this turned out to be an excellent idea. There were several people fishing from the sides and end of the pier but it wasn’t too busy...More

We can’t imagine going to the beach without taking a walk down the FollyBeach Fishing Pier. A fishing pier it is. We learned about Trolly Fishing. We have never seen it before. We got to watch a huge 5 foot Sting Rae pulled in but...More

We enjoyed walking along the pier and checking out what the fishermen were up to. There are some benches and at the entrance there’s a small restaurant in one side and a gift shop in the other. You can see for a long distance up...More

We did not come here to fish, just to walk to the end of the pier during a walk on the beach. A lot of the decking has been replaced so the pier was very clean. It was a little cool and breezy, so did...More

Nice pier, we always see different ocean life like fish or birds or dolphins when we come here. Bathrooms are clean and pier is free. The parking price varies (sometimes free, sometimes $5, sometimes $10), but can't beat the location. Definitely worth checking out.

Big Sur, Not sure on license info but you can buy everything you need at the pier. The locals are friendly and will share bait type and whats hitting at the moment. The Hungry Detective

I would try calling the bait shop at the pier. As I recall, they post daily the top 3 fish that are being caught. I'm pretty sure they are aware of the seasonal trends.
