House tour (first floor only) is 25-30 mins. and led by a knowledgeable docent. Photos allowed inside, questions are encouraged, leisurely pace. Tour is free but date+time reservation must be made in advance online.

The Governor's Mansion tour provides a great in-site to the History of how the Mansion was founded and about the history of how it is furnished. Would recommend this tour to everyone

The Governor's Mansion provides an fascinating look at South Carolina and Columbia's past. Originally part of a military academy, the surviving building makes for a unique residence.

I walked around the perimeter of the property on an early Sunday morning. The camelias were in bloom and the majestic trees surrounding the property are impressive. You can see a couple of the houses on the grounds. Beautiful black iron fencing too.
