You'll get some exercise climbing the steps, but the view is worth it. I've been here twice, and there was no one else there either time. Bring a credit card as there is a small fee ($2 or $3 per person.)

The lookout tower is a healthy climb, but relatively safe for kids of all ages.... and mom, dad, and grandparents. The tower provides excellent views of the famous Pine Creek Gorge and surrounding area.

You drive past Canyon Country Campground and it is next to campground. Follow their signs to find the road (Wilson Rd) off of 660. Right where 660 makes a 90 turn. Turn right through metal gates and drive to tower. Very close to Leonard Harrison...More

Didn't realize there was a charge to climb, which you had to get ticket at Campground or use machine to charge your fee.

It costs $3.00 a person, and you can only use a debit or credit card. NO CASH. You climb the 120 steps (I counted them, ha ha) and get to the top. What a Spectacular view!! This is a must see if you are in...More

This tower was in Valley Forge and I remember going up in it when I was a child. They closed it down for safety reasons. It was a pleasant surprise to find it in Wellsboro, and to be able to go up in it again....More

Old fire tower that is need of updating. The 360 view is beautiful. There are approximately 10 levels of steps to the top, it can be alot of steps for someone not used to walking steps.
