I was a graduate student when Dr, Matson was an Anthropology professor in the combined department of soc and anth. I was a sociology student but made sure I took a course from her. The Museum is a wonderful tribute to a fantastic scholar!

Been awhile since I've been there but we took our boys there several times. Many displays and some interaction displays. I think it's a great family visit and the kids loved it. Plus you are learning something at the same time.

Named after its founder, Dr. Fred Matson, the museum though small, houses important collections of Middle Easter, African and American artifacts. Many of the works came from Dr. Matsoné collection.

The is an interesting little museum, but it is very small and off the beaten track. It also seems a bit dark and uninviting.
