Perched on a rock above a gushing waterfall, this historic house was built for a Pittsburgh family by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930s, ingeniously designed to blend harmoniously into the tranquil and beautiful woods around it.
I've seen pictures of this house many times, I'm glad I got to see it in person.I wish I could see in when the leaves change color but it is 6 hours away. They do a great job running multiple tours at the same time.
We went during the week to avoid weekend crowds, there were still quite a few people touring. Groups of 12-14 people depart from the visitor center every 6 minutes, so, there are multiple tours in the house at the same time. It was quite warm...More
I visited the home without really any expectation or knowledgeable of what I would see and experience. The home and story of the Kaufman family are remarkable. It was one of the best experiences that I have had traveling.
It was great to see this famous house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The setting is gorgeous and perfect for the building. The tour gave us insight into the mind of the genius. To put it in the perspective of the time it was built...More
Took the one hour house tour led by Brandon. Every feature of the House was fascinating. Brandon gave insights on many features in every room. Frank Lloyd Wright’s design was so perfect for the location. This is a do not miss tour if you are...More

We recently visited Fallingwater and had decided in advance to use Connellsville as our base. We can strongly recommend the excellent Connellsville Bed & Breakfast at 316 West Crawford Ave in Connellsville. The amenities in the town there are geared to those travelling the Great Allegheny Passage. Our hosts recommended a nearby Italian restaurant that we visited each evening of our 2 day stay. We travelled a circuit from Connellsville to Fallingwater that took us back through the Ohiopyle State Park and the Yougiogheny River Gorge. Those interested in sites of the revolutionary period can visit Braddock's monument and Fort Necessity and return to Connellsville via Uniontown. We reckon Connellsville offers the better option as a base for visiting Fallingwater
